Tucson. Rode some very nice, and quirky, local trails during the Gem and Mineral shows in February. Can't remember the name of the trail, but it runs along the west side of Suguaro National Park. Tight, rocky, exposed, singletrack through those big mofo cactii... Awesome!

I am more North West so my go to areas have been Deem hills, Sonoran preserve north and south, cave creek and Phoenix mountain preserve doing trail 100. I have done a few rides on the SE side of town but not super knowledgeable of all the trails in the valley.

No South Mountain yet? That place is pretty much ground zero for the rad goods in the valley. Full value and rough. Maybe not singlespeed friendly, and parking is the joke that every TH in the valley has become...

When I moved out here in the summer it was not really a good time to explore. Way to hot to get stuck somewhere. There is so much riding and trails up by my house that it will take a long time before I hit all of them let alone drive an hour + south to check out south mountain.

Got ya. So your first riding season is upon you, awesome!

FWIW, SoMo is the kind of riding I/we like best: Big up/hard down. Everybody might not like that, and it's certainly just a snippet of what the desert there offers. I don't know of any riding like that around Phoenix other than SoMo. I doubt there is any unless one heads way west to the Estrellas. @schillingsworth?

I'm still trying to fill that Santiago Peak/Santa Anas void, if ya dig.

I've not seen anything yet either. In the past, I helped setup the ride...the interest in the event and the flag near Luge has diminished IMO :( . Having said that, I may bring a flag on a longer ride that day. If so, I'll try and post it up here for those interested.

Anybody heard of a Luge ride Monday 11/11 to replace the flag(s)? It's typical to do so on Veteran's Day, and usually someone who is a better human than I makes plans to replace it. Has anyone heard of any such plan?

@Danimal? @mtnbikej? @Faust29?

We’s riding tomorrow! :thumbsup:

Weez hasn’t done the TRT Martis Peak to Brockway Summit, so tomorrow it is. It’s some of the most fun you can have via bike on the Rim Trail. We’ll ride basecamp to base for the bonus scenery and miles.

A couple of you Aye Empty Beers have sampled it. Never many riders on it...a testament to the sheer amount of riding around here. Put it in OC and it would be the Other Luge.

Riding with my friend Kevin in Aliso - and possibly LCWP - this morning at 8:00 am (Sun Nov 10). I think we will be all alone at that time. :confused:

Oh and don't forget there's a Pivot demo at Rock and Road in Mission Viejo, so Whiting and The Luge will be infested with them.

That explains why the owner was riding his ebike in the CNF...

I didn’t know who he was at first, but it does answer the age old question of whether or not people shuttle San Juan on an ebike.
