The coffee lover thread

Love me some espresso in just about any form, especially a noisette/cortado/macchiato style drink: espresso with a bit of foam on it. Like a very short cappuccino. Yummers! I'm really sensitive to caffeine though, so I make half caf mix I use in the morning. If I drink coffee after 1300 I won't be able to sleep that night, so I have decaf caps in the evening for dessert.
Over-sharing on the internet, who knew!

Can't beat this:

Makes a great cup of Yuban!

Actually, a good French press, while initially more expensive, will save money on filters. Also, you only need to be able to boil water to use it, not plug it in, so it makes the press better for remote use. And, you could probably grind your coffee with a rock and it would still work.

Yuban will get you banned!

There are nice packable and insulated ones as well.

I still keep a French press (or three) around. If I have to drink regular coffee, that's what I reach for! I also find that I prefer the darkest beans I can find for the press, while my espresso tastes hover around medium-dark.

This is how tomorrow's coffee plans will go:

1) I will start the day with a cup or two of home brewed coffee in the beautiful Crescenta Valley
2) Later in the morning, a coffee stop at Starbucks in Lenwood
3) In the early afternoon, a coffee stop at the Human Bean on hwy 95 in beautiful Lake Havasu City

You know how to get mountain bikers to buy coffee? Name the roasts after our favorite trails, and set up at the local race. It's either good marketing or entrapment. One of the two. :p

I passed on the Luge and Vista... And went with my favorite on the table.

Cold brew is an aquired taste... To me it works better in a sweeter world. Cold brew to me taste flat because the cold brew process does not extract the acid so that's why it's not as acidic but that's exactly what others like about it. I have had some that's really good I think there's just a lot of mediocre out there too.
