YAY!!

Good on Ya! @herzalot

My wife and I were there about 10 years ago right after they finished renovating the massive pipe organ and we got to go to a opening night concert of the master organist. It was amazing... And free!!

Think of the most amazing gothic vampire and other uplifting music that you've ever heard. Coming out of a giant organ in reverberating through a medieval stone church. It was breathtaking!

The churches there double as concert classical music venues. We saw / heard Verdes Requiem in Le Madeleine (another massive church)

Oh and a little coffee. Goodness here in Costa Mesa waiting for our atmospheric river.

I'm out of town 2-3 weeks a month, and have complained ( or commented ) to my wife that hotel room coffee and hotel coffee in general sucks. And this coming week I'll be out of town for work again. Well, my birthday so coming up this week and seeing that I'll be out of town for it my wife was excited to give me my present and I had no idea what it would be other than she said " you can use it on your trips". o_O hhmmm...

So today she gave it to me. And must say, she NAILED it this time! Espresso on the run, and in the hotel, as long as I have hot water I am hooked up with my Caffeine!
She gave me a portable espresso press, uses loose coffee or Nespesso pods ( which we have :) ). I tried it, it is quite Good, and I am a very happy ( and energetic ) Danimal today.

Old Post Revival!

Turns out my slight coffee addiction might be slowly killing me...
Went for my first physical in 3 years... and systolic bp was pushing the high 40's. So maybe slamming 60 oz of coffee every morning is not so great...
So I've been monitoring the bp at home.. slightly obsessively for the past few days.
2 days now no coffee.
Grumpy
gnarly headache.
low energy

But latest reading just now, mid afternoon when it usually spikes to high 130's was 115/75....

So now the next step.. see how a simple 10 oz cup in the morning works out..

If I had to choose between giving up coffee, or slowly dying, I'm not sure what route I'd go. I mean, we're all slowly dying anyway. That morning coffee is what gives me the will to live.

I’m pretty much with you on this. But luckily my bp is normally fairly low. I’m falling apart in other ways, as is well documented in other threads.

I do love my morning coffee - but I’m no Steve! I don’t have a french press, burr grinder nor espresso machine. I just grind some Starbucks beans each morning.

Steve brews the GREATEST cups of americano at 4am!
