New Bike Day!

Edit. Had to repost since I can't modify my original post anymore for some reasono_O.

And....She's done for the most part as of tonight:whistling:. Will probably shorten the rear brake line at some point. This build came out a bit more sexy than initially anticipated:eek:. Suspension setup will be the next step which could take me a while:geek:.

Something a little different which, hopefully, will provide relief and not rancor. Several years ago my daughter asked me to build her an e-cruiser to tool around the streets of Las Vegas (she rode it on the strip during the early phases of COVID). Anyway, the newness is that it's being decorated for Burning Man (5 mph speed limit, so she may ride it a lot unassisted). For your viewing pleasure with a basket even

Not new, but on the way to restoration. This yard find had the aluminum corrosion removed by successively finer sanding, the steel frame prepared & painted, the chrome polished and the electrics sorted. Surprisingly, everything functions adequately. Still more work to do.

My wife got a new full suspension mountain bike this last weekend from the Path in Tustin. They are blowing out 22' trance x 29's (alloy) and trance 29's way, way below msrp (1,900) and it was too good of a deal to pass up. The wife now fully understands and is bit by the N+1 as the only answer for the qty of bikes you need.

She's gotten to the point where she has the bike control skills and now understands how/when to shift, how to carry momentum and how to use things like the dropper post. Since she's dialed in all of the mountain biking minutia... it's getting harder and harder for her to get a workout in on her emtb (orbea rise) and it's nearly impossible for her to ride with some of the girl friends she's made in the mountain biking community that don't ride ebikes. So... enter this this 22' trance x 29 and she's now venturing further and further away from her emtb. Say what you will about emtb's... but I'm thankful that they gave me the opportunity to tame the learning curve a bit initially, and I'm beyond stoked that she's smitten with the sport and comfortable enough to start doing things the old fashioned way.

I of course, have tons of parts to swap out and I'm in the process of taking this from a 34 something pound bike down to 27ish. Changing wheels/tires/cassette alone pulled 3 pounds of weight off the bike. Great bike for 1,900 bucks but tons of room for improvement.

Stock as it left the shop.

We did a quick little shake-down cruise at oaks/irvine park to adjust ergonomics, fit etc.
