New Bike Day!

Press fits ain't that bad. I can change the one on my Pivot in mere minutes with the fancy tool I made...:Roflmao:cry::gag:

I’m hoping the Wheels BB is solid… aluminum, threads in the middle and places the bearings outside the frame. Like a real BB.

I ordered a tool… I have the homemade press I used for the Moxie headset cup, but that was British steel, and this is plastic… I’m a little more nervous. A’feared I be!

Yeah sure keep us guessing:Roflmao. I’m still saying down county weight wheenie whip but maybe it’s a feather weight gravel grinding climbing machine. Don’t you and plastic have a bad reputation though?

Technically, I don't have anything new yet. And it might not even be a "new" bike... I will update when boxes start to arrive. :Roflmao

I will say that I think I got a helluva good deal... It just cost me my soul, according to one forum member and (possibly) former riding partner.

I will say that the item in this box only tipped the scale at 5.8 pounds including shock and the pre-run dropper cable. That's similar to my last hardtail purchase.

All I see is the Blue Moon box off to the left.o_O

I bought that a year ago, and haven't touched it. Probably time to throw it out...

Oh well... Back to New bike day!

I've been researching and reading... And have had many conversations with @SnakeCharmer and with The Mechanic: @mtnbikej . But in the end it came down to a deal that was too good to pass up. Kinda like how I ended up with the Hightower... I've been watching sales and prices at a few places, and the other day InCycle lowered the price on a "2019" Stumpjumper Frameset (Frame, shock, Fox 36 fork, headset, Specy dropper, bottle cage, tools) to a very attractive price. I hit "BUY"!

I have "2019" in quotes above, because I believe this is a transition model that was offered at the end of the 2018 product cycle as a special order only. It is made from the S-Works level carbon (11m versus the normal 9m), and according to InCycle it has 140mm of travel compared to the normal 135mm. I'll have to measure that part to be certain. Either way, it seemed like a really solid deal...

On the scale, it comes in at 5.8 pounds for frame and shock. Pretty light for a mid-travel 29er frame... And significantly lighter than the Hightower. Should be a fun bike... I'm hoping the reduced weight will be more suitable for the longer days, without sacrificing in the travel department.

Now to wait for all the parts boxes to arrive... o_O Handlebars, brakes, drive train, etc. are all on the way...

Throw out the beer or the Specialized? :Roflmao
Just kidding... The frame looks good, I like the color. Should be a comfy ride. My Hightower frame was 6.0 lbs on the dot.

 When I had it apart last year to build the Moxie, it was like 7.5 with the shock, cables, and probably the headset. Maybe I need a new scale.

The Hightower is staying for the time being... Unless someone out there wants an "ugly" condition battle tank. :D

That looks to be an EVO model from your description. If you could get the part number off the box I could try to see what exact model that is.

You drug this out this long only to have a gender reveal party for a Specialized!?!? o_O

That’s a sweet looking frame!
Pretty sure my CC frame was right at if not slightly under 6.0 lbs. But it’s still a tank.

You can't complain about me dragging it out. You skipped the live airing and binge watched- The entire season at once! I saw those "likes" all come in within a minute. :Roflmao

Man... The C version is heavy. I'm starting to care more about weight, as it gets harder to push.
