New Bike Day!

I've been thinking about getting or building up a lightweight HT bike for several yrs now, more seriously the last several months. Something for XC trails/FR type riding. Was about to get a Scott scale from a guy , then took a last look on Pinkbike and the day before a guy posted his Niner RDO HT for a killer price. 2 month old carbon wheels, warranty frame replacement, fox SC fork. Went and looked at it and it was mine!!
23 lbs.

Looks great, and I can imagine it will ride the same. Enjoy the honeymoon!

Oh yeah! N+1!
I have had several of these babies! Had to get another. The only thing I would like to do is get some new Maxxis Shoes on her. I usually don’t go aluminum but the paint scheme will go well with my new kit!
Let your eyes feast on this!
Nope Herzy! It ain’t an eBike! Plus check it out. It folds so you don’t need a bike rack! Savor…

Badass looking Walker AF. But remember, it’s the walker, not the walker. :sneaky::geek:

Fully rigid!

Doods! I search for this thread the other day, and the search function was unable to identify it because of that pesky exclamation point. What's the big deal about new bicycles anyway?!!

Ok here it is (for now):

Cannondale still makes bikes???

Don't get me wrong, I still love riding the Synapse my wife stole from me. An awesome road bike at 18.8 lbs.

I bet it's the latter...Or he's veeeeeeeeeeery forward thinking and planning for the kiddos.
You guessed it, Redwoods and @CBone. It’s a 20” single speed for my 4 yr old who outgrew her 16” bike a few hours after I realized her 12” balance bike was too small. I’ll post some photos after Santa Clause brings it down the chimney we don’t have. The California Building Code failed to consider the logistics of Santa Clause when it banned wood-burning hearths in homes.

The discerning reading will note I got beat up trying to save a few dollars last year. F it, I just ordered from a well-known domestic brick-and-mortar outdoor gear chain with a generous return policy.

I'm not all that picky about what fat bike, which sort of works with current availability. It looks like I'll be back on a Salsa after parting with the El Mariachi years back, it's a good brand for bikepacking stuff and dropout options.

Looks like a Beargrease! Good deal. Loving my Timberjack.
Yep. TJs seem to have a following.

@mike I'll be eyeballing these fat bikes before next winter. Not sure how I feel about it right now. Nice rig, congrats!!!!
Thanks!! Good to plan ahead for your move.

Hehe, I’m not sure, either! I’m planning for it to not be a substitute for what I know as MTB. I’ve done enough slogging on loaded bikes and other low speed suffering that I will appreciate it on some level. I’ve dug every kind of biking I’ve been attracted to, so I don’t think I can lose. Here’s to new horizons. :)

It's a bike! (Salsa Beargrease)

Props to the Chinese for a beautiful product. It seems very trail-ish compared to a lot of fatties. A respectable 31.6 lbs with low spec, tubes, dork disk, monster pedals and that giant stack of stem spacers.

I have a 170 dropper to slam on it. The routing exits up at the head tube. Carbon backsweep bar/60mm stem and it's ready to shake down.

2.5 vs 4.0:

I calculated that, at my weight, I have to ride a 3.8" tire to have the same float as the weez at 110 lb/2.6". Maybe I can keep up with her on the DH now...

The bike can also run 26 x 5 and 29 x 3 tires. Exploration is the operative word. : )
