That's what I have on my Jet. $40 for carbon?Specialized Zee cage. Left or right entry versions.
Never lost a bottle riding hardtails.
Plastic is about $24 each, carbon $40.

Think of the riding. What's in your future? What do want to ride? Projects or goals in mind? What is everything? I didn't see this post when I lobbed that Ripmo at you. What about your current bike(s) would you improve or change?I want a new frame but I am stuck between keeping my hardtail and my FEX, and dumping both of them and going back to being a one bike for everything rider.
Ripmo is way overkill for my style and limits. One more rider here that needs a Ripmo AF?
Now we're getting somewhere!Ripmo is way overkill for my style and limits.

Thanks for your input. I always appreciate it Mike. Ive just got the new bike (frame) bug. Thats the truth of it all. There is nothing at all wrong with what I have now. More time to venture off to places like AZ and UT would be nice. I need to win the lottery.Think of the riding. What's in your future? What do want to ride? Projects or goals in mind? One-bike existence is pretty sweet these days. But overall I'd nudge you in the direction of more travel than you perceive you need. Because there is no discernible penalty for it. Many people are still stuck mentally in the world of XC, trail and DH bikes, and bike weight. The lines are completely blurred now. You just decide what kind of characteristics you like based on the riding you do or want to do. And they all pedal well enough for it to not matter whether a bike is 29 or 32 lbs. If you're a hardtail guy at heart, there is a lot of current stuff out there to consider.
Like you don't know all of this anyway...you're a bike enthusiast. It's a first-world, no-lose situation...have fun widdit.
Take a look at the Kona Libre and Cannondale Topstone as well. The Slate would be amazing if they bumped up tire clearance so it could run bigger 650b rubber. My budget will lead me to the more mundane- Giant, Salsa, Kona, Ridley...
I'll throw it out there... My top choices at the moment are either the Giant Revolt advanced or the Kona Rove in steel. I'm not concerned about weight. My 25 pound Schwinn is still the best riding road bike I've ever had and it has countless miles on it. It was also my dirt rider in the 80s.

Also consider this close-out: https://www.the-house.com/qbzradpro45mb19zz-breezer-bikes.htmlI haven't looked at the Libre too closely, but the Cannondale gets insane reviews... In Kona land, I've been looking at the Rove and the Sutra, with the steel really catching my eye.
I guess I'm a retro grouch at heart...
Steel is real. I've ridden every variation of Niner's RLT. Aluminum, carbon and steel. The aluminum was stiff and rode pretty rough. The carbon was stiff yet compliant and very fast. The steel was by far the most comfortable. Definitely the cruiser of the bunch.I haven't looked at the Libre too closely, but the Cannondale gets insane reviews... Buddy of mine (Hi Mike!) just bought one, and is very impressed with it and the value.

That is a pretty sleek looking machine...
Heck, I coulda sold you a pair of used ones for less than half the price (free)!
You must have some really special shipping connections cause I just saw that box with your pedals in Valencia this afternoon...
Used? Do you know how many sets of used pedals I have? Thanks though.Heck, I coulda sold you a pair of used ones for less than half the price (free)!

I have 1 set of XT and 2 sets of XT trail. Just can't bring myself to put used pedals on a new bike.I have a coffee can full of Crankbrothers Eggbeaters in the garage. I've tried to give them away...
Pedals on a mountain bike take more of a beating that any other metallic part. If your used XT pedals are still functioning as expected, install and use them until they no longer perform as expected. New pedals are going to look like used pedals in a matter of weeks or even days.I have 1 set of XT and 2 sets of XT trail. Just can't bring myself to put used pedals on a new bike.

I had a couple of buddies that had CB wheels. Every time they failed they got the same story. Their wheels sure looked cool though. If they were Crankbrothers, you'd be afraid to put new pedals on a new bike...
Every 6 months like clockwork, they broke... And like clockwork, Crankbrothers would say, "Wow, we've never seen this happen before. We need our engineers to look them over and see what went wrong. This is 1 in a million."
I'd take my new pedals, pretend it was the first time, and slink out the door, leaving my dignity behind...
Edit: The exception is the Mallet. I have a pair of Mallet 3s that have been flawless, and I wouldn't hesitate to throw them on a bike.
Good call on the xtr's. I've got a couple pair and they really are nice and worth the extra money to me.I have 1 set of XT and 2 sets of XT trail. Just can't bring myself to put used pedals on a new bike.
They shouldn't get that beat up on a gravel bike but who knows...New pedals are going to look like used pedals in a matter of weeks or even days.

I bought a set of XTR's last year for my road bike that have since been moved to my Jet since the road bike is no longer in service. Not sure I can feel a difference between XT and XTR but the XTR's sure are pretty.Good call on the xtr's. I've got a couple pair and they really are nice and worth the extra money to me.

I was thinking he should hit Horn Trail in Ojai. Great gravel bike ride for someone as strong as him. The 4 mile descent might not be much fun though... I just wish he would have bought one before I sold mine. I may have kept it if I had somebody to ride and share the discomfort with.Huh? I expect that Ed will be dropping Hummingbird on it and rolling St George on it. Don’t you?
Hmmm...I was just shopping for for some 2's for XC racing...I have a coffee can full of Crankbrothers Eggbeaters in the garage. I've tried to give them away...
