We need some ongoing intrigue, though. You guys are the best, but these skinny-tire bikes are not getting me aroused. NTTAWWT. Just to keep the whodunnit going I've cancelled my MC order. Cuz, ya know, anything worth doing is worth taking to extremes. :)

One can never be too careful. I suspect my recent, somewhat knee-jerk purchase will mean the imminent release or announcement of what I’ve been conceptually pining for. Though I suppose I’ve never let ownership of a perfectly good bike stand in the way of chasing a perfectly gooder bike, or perception thereof.

Waiting for bikes sounds like a good way to deprive oneself of fun. Bad move! But, a wait of known duration could be manageable... :whistling::cool:

Bottom bracket holds the bearings... An easy swap on yours. Shimano is like $30. Or you can outlay some more cash and get one that will last a lifetime and is serviceable. I like Hope... :inlove:

Yup, most likely the bottom bracket is worn out.

Other things to check:

1. clean/grease the freehub
2. clean/lube derailleur pulleys


These are all things that make the cranks feel like they have more resistance.
