New Bike Day!

"Using" might not be the most accurate term, as I haven't actually put it on in at least a month. But it's this one. https://www.shop-orthopedics.com/Ossur_Innovator_DLX_Post_Op_Knee_Brace_p/42310x.htm?1=1&CartID=0 Problem is, the pad on the inside hinge rubs the inside of my knee, but the pad on the outside is over an inch from my knee. And I was never able to adjust the straps to a point where the brace itself didn't creep down once my quad starts firing. As a maddening aside, I just got my final bill from the surgeon. This stupid thing that retails for $120, cost $1,800 from the surgeon's office, and my copay was like $350. I do believe I'll call and negotiate that BS.
The extra charges are from the 5 minutes the ortho spent to fit the brace to your leg and show you how to use it.

Oh lame!! When my brace came in I had to go to a specialist for a fitting, he bent the metal parts to fit my knee, this went on for three visits as my braces got smaller..the fit was perfect.
And yeah, they’d better lower your copay! My insurance did similar with a post op device my Dr kept sending home with me (for each surgery), they tried to bill me like $2000 each time for a compression sleeve that I didn’t ask for or use, I won thankfully.

I actually had 2 braces. One they put on me right after surgery that I went home in. It was almost more of an immobilizer, huge clunky thing. Then I got a functional brace a couple weeks later. A guy in the surgeon's office measured me up for them and they were special ordered, custom fit. Not sure what brand the functional brace is - its buried somewhere. But it wasn't as compact as a Donjoy brace. It fit pretty well and I could ride in it but would get uncomfortable after about 15miles once I got riding that sort of distance. So eventually I stopped using it and opted to take things easy instead. But that was probably at the 4 month point or so. I'd still wear it on any rides where trails were a bit tougher or looser.

Yes, do. Especially since it doesn't fit you correctly and is therefore, basically useless. Heck, I go in there and negotiate a canceling of the bill for that brace.

I get ya... Unlike is hitting the Like button a second time. What we really need is a Fuk That Shyt button. Between friends we can be honest. That’s why this site should never get big. Human power hounds, salute to ya. :geek:
If I hadn't shared a beer with you, I might be more offended by your comment. But since most of us know each other on this site, we know when we are just poking. Cheers!

And now, can we start talking about me please?

Will be waiting... will see if you or @mountaingirl sara posts first, I think there's some competition!
I wish you guys! This bike is probably $8000...that’s just nuts!
But today I scored 4QOM’s, that’s pretty much due to the difference in bike’s because I don’t know the Tapia trails well at all. Sooooo....I think it’s fate, it’s just a matter of when:whistling:

Can I post here later in the week or will I need to start a new thread called New "Bikes" Day? :whistling:
Yes, multiple bikes at once deserves its own thread.

@mountaingirl sara: One for you and one the for hubby, all for under 6k. I doubt it will inhibit your quest for QOMs.

Don’t get me wrong..I’m not yearning for QOM’s, they’re nice, but it just shows the difference in bikes. I feel she’s very agile and I like that!
@SnakeCharmer uh uh, no can do! ;)
@UPSed Ibis knew what they were doing when they sent out the top of the line XTR build for demos. I looked it up, this bike is $9000 :bang:
