In Other News

in other news: Ca has become the state with the highest electricity rate, that goes with the highest fuel rate of 5.70 gal (cheapest, you will pay more). Got to love the ways they pick my pocket. Lucky for me I do not drive much

Just returned from the Virgin Islands today and paid $4.29 a gallon on Tortola. It’s crazy they are $1+ cheaper than CA when they are out there in the middle of nowhere.

My favorite Albini moments are:

the book Our band could be your life: detailed his zine and extreme distaste:
/rivalry with the Band Ministry. He considered them posers.

And, in the JawBreaker documentary: he’s sitting in his studio talking about all of the equipment they used and how he recorded everything for their second album and the Jawbreaker guys are singing his praises and he stops mid sentence and goes “Wait, are we talking about Jawbox?”

...ding a ding a dang a dong dong ding dong...

Going through old stuff after last weekend's visit to Fleet Week in San Pedro and the ship I spent most of 1983 on (USS Carl Vinson CVN-70), came across these.

They will mean nothing to most people, but the Gulf of Sidra Yacht Club patch was Qaddafi's nightmare.

@DangerDirtyD might be racing Sam Hill on test laps down Itchy Scratchy in the near future..
It would be great to get some local talent to ride that trail, but it needs substantial trimming there and in Webb Canyon to reestablish the advanced routes. I'm also hoping they can go bigger and fill in the rut down the middle of Critters. That should satisfy Mr. Hill for a few days at least.

Breaking news.........
My fork is dialed in and the Shockwiz has been removed. The shock, new replacement from Fox, is also dialed in. Happy days ahead.
If I can only remember to flip the shock lever to the soft setting after my climbing.
This is on the Beast. The other bikes are good enough for their intended purpose.

Power was out for ~6hrs. yesterday.
Lost power this morning around 1am.
PG&E says weather related and power should be on around 1pm today.
We have a good size portable generator/inverter that gets started and ran every 6 weeks. When we hear of the thunder storm comming, all the cords and swamp cooler get brought up from the basement......

Read to the end and report back with your findings: https://archive.ph/gn897

I have heard first-hand from the Assistant District Attorney of Orange County that unless a crime exceeds $100,000, they don't have the resources to pursue it. And that's for Orange County. If you want to fly just under the radar, draw out your theft/fraud, and spread it among more than one county.

Perhaps Zorro will show. It might be time for that sort of thing again.
