He introduced me to Squirrel Cage. Top of the trail is an intimidating rock section; he made me do it! "No excuses" he says. Yippee... I did it!! Ok, the first section only (baby steps).

Next we hit Jump Line; I follow him into every jump - YAY!!!!!WOO!!!!!YIP YIP!!!!!!

You guys gotta come out here and ride w us. :D

I rode today....actually it was Saturday.

Left with grandiose plans for a 100 miler. Warm, damp, humid from the moment I departed.

About 1/2 way up Blackstar I broke through the clouds and into the rising sun. At Main Divide, I was above the clouds.

Dropping down Skyline I could feel the heat and humidity rising. Went down a ways and turned around. Back at Sierra Peak, with the intention of heading over to Chino Hills, I knew that as the clouds broke, it was just gonna get warmer and stickier. I decided that I preferred to be closer to home when that happened. As i began the climb back into Weir Cyn the sun came out and as predicted, the humidity skyrocketed. Climbing up Deer was proof I made the right choice. Did a couple of other extra credit climbs before heading home.

Oh well, there is always next weekend.

^^^What a disappointment "J" . . . ^^^

I rode my 5-Spot (5.5 travel). That's all that's needed - you should have joined us Carl!!

Commuted again today...about 32 miles total. And wouldn't you know it, halfway home the bike turned into a two-speed. Rear derailleur cable broke. At least it's mostly level and I had a tailwind today :)

What is a derailleur cable?

I rode today.....

Again took advantage of OTH occupying a ton of riders in OC, so the trails are a little less crowded.

Headed over to Oaks...was pretty hot, but a dry heat...sort of. Spent most of the time out in Weir Cyn were it was easily 15* cooler. Even dropped out the backside of the park for some extra credit. Was almost 9:00 by the time I got home.

Ding Dong this morning the "easy way" - early start with Mike. Up O'Neil, Bell View and the lovely HAB up lower Bell Ridge. Ding Dong is loose and rutted, and tons of white knuckle fun :D One steep section my rear tire caught a rut and got me sideways (like I was doing a tail whip but still on the ground), and my attempt to correct it put me right into the bushes, even left a little DNA. The rebuilt shock worked well but somewhere near the bottom the seatpost blew and wouldn't come back up. Still, fun times and mostly beat the heat :)

I fear commitment....maybe one day I will jump into this mountain biking thing with both feet.

Managed to get two 8 mile rides in since we blew up the rocket and work has slowed down to a crawl.

If things don't pick up soon, I just might start getting some real rides in/ need a new job!

Oh, the shame... Me and my broken finger were probably hiking in O'Neill when you were out there having fun. 7 miles and 900 feet... On foot! God, that sucks.

Knew you were disabled with the finger so didn't ask if you wanted to join the ride, but as we were struggling on the HAB up Bell Ridge a trail runner ran by us, thought maybe that was you, but I was too out of breath pushing my bike to even ask :?

I love how everyone is using the term "yahoos" now ... LOL! It's such a great word that has such a humorous and loving connotation feel to it. :D

I rode my bike yesterday, and as someone pointed out, made a neat doodle... a dog with a really long tongue.

If Mikie ever gets a jersey, I vote for the "IMTB Yahoos!" design.

I rode my bike tonight with a friend who has been overseas for a month. I love riding my bike, and socializing with friends. That is all..

Shortest herzreport ever. You ok? :wtf:

Look at the one that started this thread. All is well. Looking forward to Saturday's ride with a few good friends and a few new friends. Bike is running great!

I got out for a quick 10.3 miles last night (1,128ft gain) at Oaks. Not a ride I'd normally post up about but it's always cool to run into rattlesnakes on the trail. This guy was a red diamond hiding in the bushes right near the Catus/Bumble Bee junction as I was heading up towards Goat. He was pretty wide but I couldn't get a good picture of the rest of him.

Happy Friday!

I rode my bike twice today, once to work and once back home, even took the medium range route(although I seriously considered playing hookie and just riding my bike once with Mikie and Ed up on McGill except my truck was broke) Thats not the good part though. The good part is I left work at noon to spend the afternoon with the family(summer break is almost over and I haven't taken any time for the kid or the wife or the puppy :( so now is the time...) Decided to jam out to Ventura and take Rusty for his first trip to the beach. He really liked it and so did dad...Dad also had a tough time deciding what forum to post this in.
