I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Any side effects with the lisinopril? I was on it for a couple of years and it really messed me up on my rides especially if I was exposed to the sun. I finished a ride one day and my blood pressure was 80/50. I almost passed out. I'm now on enalapril maleate. No side effects whatsoever. Family genetics here as well. I have cardiomyopathy so I take it to keep my blood pressure lower than normal.

Nothing yet....but it's only been a week.

I rode neither Saturday nor Sunday because family stuff and everyday life was taking precedence. It was blowing pretty hard this afternoon. We'll see what happens mañana.

I didn't ride Sunday, instead I took my bike down to the Path and handed it over for a nice post-race-season deep cleaning/tune up. Turns out I'm likely going to need ~$300 of work done, but such is the way of life. My rear cassette and inner ring is hosed (I even somehow managed to break off a tooth in one of the middle rings of the rear cassette). An amusing thing was I looked at my stats and had ridden my Burner exactly 1,000 miles since I got it earlier this year. Not 999, not 1001, exactly 1000. Completely by accident, heh.

Not riding my bike anytime soon... Maybe Thanksgiving, as we are headed to Mesquite, NV.

Like a buddy of mine said......"from zero to cabin fever in 3 days".

I still don't know what this snow thing is....we don't get that here in the OC. :whistling:

I rode Saturday but went hiking with the gf on Sunday morning. We did Eaton Cyn. it was kind of boring but, at least we got out early. I usually reserve Saturdays as my ride days-she's not allowed to plan anything for Saturday mornings that involves me. But, I may have to bite the bullet and hike this coming Saturday because we have a big event in the evening and I know neither of us is going to get out of bed on Sunday.

So is this an Albuquerque low? I've driven through some brutal conditions in Castle Rock - (I lived just south of Monument for 5 years). Sounds like you need to batten down the hatches. Pretty early for Denver area.

Skiing/snowboarding is fun. Do it, or go crazy waiting to ride your bike again!!

If you can stand the 3 hour commute to get there. Pass.

Worth it!

How to do Front Range day skiing right:

Leave at 5am. Get there at 6:30. Park up front. Take a nap. Get breakfast, coffee. Visit the restroom. Get your gear on. Hit the early lifts. Get your fill. Leave before the crowds. Home in an hour and a half. Easy peasy! Especially Loveland or even A Basin.

If you can't ride you surely can do some indoor resistance training. That's what I just did tonite with kettle bells.

Been a while since you been here, eh?

Yeah - haven't done a Front Range based trip since early 2000s. Is it that bad now? Based on your comments, it must be.

Still snowing here... About a foot or so over night, hard to tell as there was a lot of wind. Live vicariously.

I actually LOVED blizzards. I even love driving in snow, as long as there isn't traffic and I have some visibility. People are friendlier in blizzards too.

It's supposed to be 80 here this weekend, so I am stuck with the dilemma of whether to ride my bike on the awesome trails in my backyard, surf at Trestles or Salt Creek or go skiing/snowboarding at Big Bear or Mammoth. Woe is me...(rub, rub, rub...) :whistling:

Sorry. I know I will pay the Karma gods for this insensitive little post.
