It got dark ...
It just got light again. There's still hope!

That and "Bikes are stupid, I can't believe my dad made me ride them..."!So I can see it now, in 30 years, when your adult kids are on a forum somewhere:
"When we were kids, all we had to do for fun was pickup goatheads!"
But ended up going for a hike with the kids and for a fun activity, cleared goatheads from the trails!!!
Not a bad afternoon at all.
But what did you do with the rest of the Goat?
BBQ?!
J, I know you're not looking for sympathy, but sorry to hear about your travails at Temecula. BP meds are something I'm also trying to avoid...I haven't heard good things about the effects.
There are natural ways to lower your blood pressure. I'm sure you have looked . . . right? Coconut Water for one . A lot of pre surgery info states to refrain from Coconut water prior to surgery due to that very reason .Thx....the meds themselves actually are not an issue....I actually do feel better since I got on them.

I will do anything to prevent taking pharmaceuticals. They only treat the symptoms in my opinion. Plus, the side effects can be as damaging if not MORE damaging then what they are intended for.
Okay . . . . . I've calmed down.
Good to know....this is the first time in my life I have had the need to take meds. Hell, this was the first time I had been to the doctor for something other than injury in almost 20 years. Wasn't happy about it....but kinda knew it was coming.
Yes... But we're glad that you're taking care of it, and not being stubborn.
Given that regular cardiovascular exercise is supposed to keep the BP down I'm surprised yours is high.
Bad genetics.....runs in the family....on both sides.
Picking the right parents is key. I didn't...Lisinopril 10mg daily, now. Coconut water, interesting...
Are you sure longer rides to get more exercise won't keep it under control?
(OK, you know I wasn't the only one thinking that....
Glad the meds are helping and making you feel better.....)
I did not ride my bike today, worked in the AM, then time with the step daughter to pay respects to my late wife. A year today since her passing.
Think a good ride is in order this week.
I had to get my blood pressure down for a DOT physical. I started taking a couple table spoons of apple cider vinegar with "mother" in orange juice (just for taste) twice a day. Needless to say, within a few days my BP was low enough to pass the test. Now I take 2 spoon fulls a day and have been feeling much better. My tension headaches are gone.Thx....the meds themselves actually are not an issue....I actually do feel better since I got on them.
Just caught this my brother. My sincere love and respect goes out to you and your loved ones my friend...I did not ride my bike today, worked in the AM, then time with the step daughter to pay respects to my late wife. A year today since her passing.

Surfed...
With yesterday's chilly winds stirring things up, I suspect the water temps (at Trestles) were about 63-65. Fullsuit for me.Water temp dropped a few degrees recently. How was it today? Plan on going out tomorrow morning.
Any side effects with the lisinopril? I was on it for a couple of years and it really messed me up on my rides especially if I was exposed to the sun. I finished a ride one day and my blood pressure was 80/50. I almost passed out. I'm now on enalapril maleate. No side effects whatsoever. Family genetics here as well. I have cardiomyopathy so I take it to keep my blood pressure lower than normal.I'm only on 5mg daily.
You're welcome!Arrived at work 7:30am. Home from work 10:15pm. Couldn't quite find time to ride in there. Perhaps tomorrow. Thank you Veterans!
