I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

I didn't ride my bike yesterday because I was waiting on UPS to show as they needed a signature. They were suppose to be here between 12 - 4 pm at 11:30 I saw him around the corner from the house so I figured "I better get back he'll be there any minute." Wrong! The phuqer didn't show till 8:00 pm

Bad influences.....make us sound like your dealer...."hey man, I got some new goods for this Sunday...you know you're gonna like it".

J's your pusher man....

In the future if you see your driver approach him and tell him you need to leave and would like to pick up your package. This time of year our delivery schedules vary by quite a bit.

I didn't ride my bike today because I was making sure my MTB customers got their stuff!

Sent the fork in for warranty repair since it won't lock out. Holiday (Thanksgiving), etc. I'm not real happy about the delay and I hope it's not because the shop screwed the pooch.

That's why I always have a spare fork. No, really. I have an X-Fusion Slant that I throw on if and when my fork needs to go in for service. Paid $500 for the Slant, brand new. If I were to buy a new spare now, it would be an SR Suntour. I imagine you can pick up a used spare Fox, RS or anything else for about $250-$350.

However, the last two times I needed to send my fork back to the motherland for servicing, they did it overnight - so no spare necessary. And they are in Long Beach, so no shipping necessary. And it was free. And I got a free t-shirt!

Long live the real Marzocchi!!!! :geek::thumbsup::inlove:

(mutters incomprehensibly about Fox buying them....):bang:

Bummer--I understand your frustration. Had a Fox warrant issue once and bought another fork to keep me going. A later go-around with Fox was for a shock, and that took six weeks. By that time I had a spare bike.

Loan him the salsa fork you just got......he would so love to ride a rigid mtn bike.

I'm really starting to appreciate the spare parts I'm accumulating. I'd go nuts without a bike...
I swapped the rear wheel today for my Arch when I noticed that the Crest had a really good wobble.

Time to learn wheel truing!

When the shop sent my Fox fork in for warranty service, they loaned me a brand new BMC SF01 29er to ride while I waited. Had that
sucker almost a month! Spare fork, don't need no spare fork, just a good LBS!

Agreed - that works for warranty work, for a while, because you bought the bike from them (The Path) and at the time, it was less than a year old. However, even the greatest of LBSs isn't likely to loan you a bike if you bought an after-market fork that needs service - especially if you've never bought a bike from them. Even less likely if you require an XL bike as your loaner.

That was what was cool about Marzocchi. They didn't require me to go through the LBS where I bought the fork - which only slows down the process, complicates communication and adds potential costs. Maybe that's why they were for sale. That and a total lack of advertising.

Since I created this god awful thread I guess it's my turn to contribute.I had to stay home and play mr mom today, cook breakfast, feed the kid, walk the dog, take the kid to his basketball game so I could witness his team get clobbered, yeah all the fun stuff. Then to top it off when the wife got home she drug me out shopping:gag:. Oh and it was cold and Hurracanous. I'm riding somehow tomorrow though even if I have to dress like an Eskimo and fill my camelbak with whiskey to stay warm.

I didn't ride my bike today and now I'm depressed...
First, we drove from my Colleague's house in Anaheim passing exits for: Whiting/luge, DP hills, SCST, La Costa(!), etc, etc. Perfect weather, all the way down to a work event in San Diego. As we pull into the parking lot I look-up and see a sign for the Stone Brewery restaurant ACROSS THE STREET:bang:

I sit in a three hour meeting drinking lukewarm coffee-without a bike, without beer, indoors. I have a beautiful view of a fountain alongside a lush green lawn that locals are using for picnics and to walk their dogs in the sun. Then we climb back into the car and drive another two hours back to OC and I drive another hour back to my house in afternoon traffic:(

I didn't ride today because I went for a hike with my daughters, the daughter's boyfriend, and the husky. We went to Falls Canyon in Trabuco. No sign of the Joplin crew.
Beautiful day. It was the husky's first real mountain hike. She did very well, including some amazing Super Woman, 10 foot leaps over logs, onto boulder fields. She was a little excited...
Met a forest volunteer who showed us another fall in the canyon, and told us about a couple of others in the Santa Anas.

No riding for me or at all this week. Nothing since last weekend in Marin. Caught a nasty flu virus at some point. Went to bed Wed night feeling fine, woke up with what I thought was a cold Thursday. Three days full of fever, coughing, aches, weakness, and here I am! Juuuust starting to feel better this evening, but the coughing still sucks. Hopefully not bronchitis. Hoping I feel good enough tomorrow to at least go for a short/flat ride!
