I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Football Booster meeting...

BTW, @StrandLeper Do you like the new field design from your house, or are you gonna be one of the ones who bitch about it being distracting from their ocean view?

Vernal Falls via Yos Falls Trail? Yea, that would take it out of a knee  Ar-ar.

Here's a fun, non-tech spin with great views:

Get your wife to drop you off in Foresta (up 120 from YV) with your bike. P/U old road (Foresta Road) on left side of Foresta CG entrance road, ride (±15 mi) – all downhill – to El Portal. Bring swimwear for the pools along the way. You probably won't see anyone out there. No singletrack, no 4wd terrain. Perfect gravel grinder territory.

The 120 is no place for bikes. I dropped off the car at the bottom and thumbed up to Foresta.

Lest I be misunderstood and thought a superman...it was from Lower Yosemite Falls to Vernal Falls via Valley Loop and Mist trail. Not over Upper Yosemite Falls to Vernal...gotta get up mighty early for that!

Technically, I can post in this thread AND in the "I rode my bike today" thread. How, you ask?

I rode my Electra Townie beach cruiser down to Trestles and back from Christianitos Road in San Clemente. That's about 4 miles round trip, 150' of climbing and a little bit of dirt thrown in. I should have done an MtB ride however because the surf SUCKED this morning. Wind at 10 knotts onshore at 8am. Everything blown out and lumpy. Water temps dipped from the absurd 77° of the past two weeks to a more normal 68-70. No sun.

Because to celebrate the end of my first "season" of mtb (according to retailers) I splurged on new shinny stuff to upgrade my entry level 2016 Giant Trance 3

I love this Jenson box, I might actually keep junk in it in my garage just because it matches the motif.

Shimano Deore XT M8000 with 180mm Ice Tech Rotors. I may not have a Gucci bike, but my Trance has new Gucci boots :D

Bell Super 2R I'm ready to get more aggressive and do more challenging dh and some lift service/shuttle riding

Removable chin guard so this helmet does double duty. After I take a ride or two in it I will let you all know how sweaty my head gets, or hopefully lack there of dripping sweat.

For the record Jenson's end of season sale kicks ass. I was out the door with on the Deore XT M8000(F/R)/180mm Ice Tech rotors x2/spare pads for about $275.
Bell Super 2R $145 (MSRP$220)

...I was building points in the bank account by doing domestic chores...

LCWP at 7:30 am (rolling) tomorrow - Sunday 8-14-16. Starting from Ridge Park. @Cougar and my friend Scott of the Bronson so far.

With the expected hot temps today....in addition to how I felt yesterday, I decided to treat this weekend as more of a recovery weekend.

Late this evening I decided to head out for a short hike. However I don't know moderation....so my short hike turned into a 2hr hike at the Oaks.

Headed up Peralta Hills, up Oak, down Barham Ridge, down Coachwhip, up BumbleB, down Oak.

And I expected to see a 100 miler today! It's nice to mix things up... After last week's drubbing, I've been thinking about hitting the elliptical and trainer some more.

I thought about getting up early and doing something big....but after getting home late on date night with the Mrs. last night, getting on the bike with only 3 hrs of sleep was't going to work.

Got up late. Knew I had to be home by 6 pm today. Too darned hot. Etc, etc.

But tomorrow will be a different story. Commuter city again. I'll even ride through some dirt on my road bike just for Herz. :geek:
