I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Couldn't decide where I wanted to ride today so I went for a run instead.

I didn't ride my bike today except from the Resort at Squaw Creek storage to my car. I did ride five days in a row, so I don't feel deprived. 10 hr. drive home, which really wasn't bad. We opted for the 50-395 route due to a desire to skip Santa Clarita. Summer traffic at the north end of Lake Tahoe was slow going for the first 45 minutes - but not a bad place to go slow. Then it was an easy drive home - except for the ridiculously thick smoke around Kramer Junction. I can't imagine what some of you are going through right now.

When we got out of the car in Laguna, we could just feel the air envelope us. My daughter said, "I got used to the altitude and dry air, now it's stuffy and wet..." She is right. But alas, at least it's not the 108° we drove through down the 395 - at 6:30 pm. Yikes! :gag:

Shimano is going to replace my XT brakes on Monday (they've been a bit wonky since I bought my bike in February), my Marzocchi is freshly serviced, and I understand the water is warm and the waves are pumping. Plenty to do back here in the LB.

The wife wanted to sleep in, and by the time she was sentient it already was starting to heat up. Then I gave my eldest his birthday present early; a two 1-month passes to a local climbing gym (1 for him, and 1 for Daddy to go with). So we headed out there for our maiden climbs. Little did I know it was a bouldering gym and completely without harnesses. It was well padded underneath though, and my boy did great. My arms/shoulders are a wee bit tired now.

Went to the OC fair with my girls and spent the day having fun and eating fried food ;). Swing by @rossage and Lea's booth to wish him a happy bday in person. He was sitting in the back and I showed up with my 2 year baby princess on my arm.. when Lea asked me if I wanted anything I said "I just want to wish this guy a happy bday " oh man ! His expresion was worth a million bucks ! He was like "What?" I said "I'm jaime from the Imtb". Very nice meeting you and Lea and thanks a lot for Paula's hand fan !! Hope we ride soon !!
@Mikie thank you a lot for this awesome forum, everytime I get to meet a member it is like seeing an old friend.

I actually don't feel anything negative today. Somewhat surprisingly. I did climb with him a few weeks ago (and that hurt the day after), but maybe it was recent enough to not leave me sore today.

Pinched nerve in my spine, been down for 3 weeks now. It ain't lookin good. Getting restless and bitter at the world... well more so than usual anyway. :poop:

Ouch... I hope you get that figured out quick.

I was off the bike for a week, while we were on our U of O road trip, which included a side tour to meet some old friends at the Presidio in San Francisco. You guys might recognize them...

And then a quick trip to Disney for our 24th wedding anniversary... I could get used to this.

And, yes, the logo on the plate is chocolate. But, I have no idea where all the crumbs came from. :whistling:

Time to get back on the bike...

I didn't ride my bike bcz I did not get home from work until a million o'clock. But I rode my trainer for an hour while watching stage 19 of the Tour (Me and Roman Bardet... on a long breakaway... for the glory of France!).

Every summer I say, "This summer will be different..." What is that about Einstein and the definition of insanity again? :)
