I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

I didn't get on my bike today......

Was too busy building a new back wheel.

I didn't ride my bike today and for that matter neither did Jennifer. Some way or another she has really got me interested in running again and today I did my first 10K trail run with her. I actually had a great time. I finished 225th out of about 800 people. My time was 1:23:23 with a 12:27 pace. For some reason my SmartWatch restarted about halfway through the race but the course map shows 6.7 miles and 800' of elevation gain. We're not as sore as we thought we would be and are actually looking forward to being on our MTB's tomorrow. Now to decide if I want to go longer distance. Jennifer has already done 20 and 30k's and several marathons. Not sure I want to push it that far.

Holy smokes it's the incredible shrinking UPSed. Looking good guys...

....because I ran a 5.1 mile with about 1k elevation gain interval session, landscaped, and put together my HD3 build together for a quote. Now enjoying a few dranks.

Who "is" that man with Jennifer???? .... And what did you do with @UPSed ?!?!?:thumbsup:

Resting today, after having a so so sleep last night, feel a little better. Had my neck so stiff I could barely move it fri. night and went to work...mistake from my part.. anyways feeling better, now after this coconut water need to replace pedals, rear brake pads and watch a movie alomg with a bucket of ice cream.. suffering at its best !!

Head high +, so out in the water. Lots of work on the salt water treadmill ... south to north current ... trying to get back, especially on the lefts. I see a little liquid analgesic in my near future.

Sick today:cry:
Sorry... Not allowed. Feel better fast Bud!

Ice Cream! What the...?

Chose to mix it up a bit. Had a mid day lunch commitment, so no morning ride.

My knee was a little unhappy after Saturday's ride.

So we went for a stroll instead. Suz made the mistake of letting me pick the route....silly rabbit, tricks are for kids. :whistling::p

It was warm out, so I went for my usual afternoon go to.....Weir Cyn. There is always a breeze blowing and the trail is in the shade.

There is rarely anyone back here with mrs.-mtnbikej

Looking up at Cliffhanger....best trail out there

It just kinda keeps meandering along......

The only climb in the park that I don't clean on a regular basis....heading back towards Oaks. I have cleaned it 2x on the SS. Around the corner it gets loose and steppy, and it is steeper than it looks. When it's muddy, you can't even hike up it.

By this point Suz was done....IT Bands were screaming at her.....unfortunately, we were still about 2 miles from the car. :gag:

But... Did you get buzzed by any of those crazy mountain bikers???

Well.....we only saw 3 of them out there. 2 of them, we were moving faster than they were, both up and down hill. :whistling: The 3rd one came around the blind turn on the steep climb just after I took the pic, but we heard him coming.
I've heard those bike riders can be really annoying. Were you at least wearing headphones and blocking the whole road?

Nice pics and those trails look fun. Do I remember hanging out with you and a group at a big Indian food prep rock; then blazing back down the road with you and Tim?

I have 2 dogs and a pair of 16 foot leashes he can borrow for his next hike... With the headphones, this should be about the same as what I see on the mesa in O'Neill...

I enjoy it back there.....it makes the rides much longer, so normal riders don't head back there that much.

May have been on a the Blind Weir- IRC ride....if I recall correctly.

We started at Irvine Regional and did lots of climbing, but that high speed dirt road descent on the way out was super fun!

'Cuzz went to bed around 1:30 am and didn't get with herz and cougar to skyline. My 2 year old rules my bed at sleeping time... :(.

I find this funny. Jennifer and I did our 10K on Saturday and there's about a mile long climb with several switchbacks. Half way up 2 MTBers were coming down. Granted they were very courteous and safe but if I looked down and saw hundreds of runners coming up I think I would just stop and wait it out.

Just too hot...and now humid. Did 5.2 mile interval/sprint run on Sunday and 9-miles yesterday (5 in the gym in the am and 4 at 9pm outdoors...still was like 90*!)

Got up to ride this am but stepped outside and the humidity is just terrible. A rest day can't hurt, right?

Stay hydrated and cool everyone.

I didn't ride my bike today, because I'm drained after baking in the sun yesterday! But, I did manage to clean my trusty steed, which included taking the single speed spacers off and getting rid of all the creaky dirt and grit. And, I rerouted my rear brake cable to its correct position inside the seat stay... mtnbikej noticed it out of place yesterday at our taco stop. She's ready to roll, even if I'm not.

Slacker. :speechless:

I don't get to post in this thread. :whistling:

Glad your fixed the brake routing. Pet peeve of mine.

I attempted to surf after not doing so for 9 months, with the expected level of fitness and proficiency (near nil). I tried Doheny for the first time. I usually drive on past and hit Trestles or Trails, but I figured I am just going to flounder anyway. I may as well do so closer to home. Good call. My arms/lats were shot in about 30 minutes, but I stayed at it for an hour more than that. I was under-foamed and overdressed. 6'2" Merrick Fishcuit and a long-sleeve springsuit. Should have brought my 9'2" Robert August and trunked it. I was visited by a sea turtle and a seal, but no sharks or dolphins.

I will ride my bike this evening, for a lovely day of surf and turf. I love weekdays off!
