Dang, you need to find more things to do.
Will work for beer. . . . .

What the hail! Stop doing that!!!!May be a while before I get back on the bike. Managed to get a stick in the eye - an actual projection from a real plant, and it didn't give.
Sore. Blurry. Might even need to go to urgent care. Looks way worse than it probably is...unless it's worse than I think.
I can still see. Bit blurry in the right eye (the stuck one) and severe gunkage this morning. Redness. Not radness.
Light seems to make it ache. Brighter, worser.
But I still have tile work to do in the guest bathroom, so I have that going for me for excuses for not riding.
I’m too lazy to look. What’s it in the shop for?Bike is still in the shop.
Tomorrow, so they say. Which means Saturday at the earliest, because I do not venture out into OC rush hour traffic.

I said hi to Joe at BikeCo for you today. He appreciated your business. It's been out for a week. Now I am just lazy. New drivetrain and a grip of needed service.

Yup that's him. Traveling mechanic for Lopes and Cody Kelley, and shop owner. Temperamental at times, but a good dude.Is Joe the owner who does the Protunes? Yeah, he is pretty rad. I wish I had more feedback about it, but I can't seem to get on my bike lately.

I had to buy a new bottle of Rock and Roll Gold! What were you doing at BikeCo? You were looking into that ProTune weren't you?

I'll take care of it for ya! Don't worry about changing the adjustments from the "ProTune" Most of the magic that Joe does has to do with the internals, not the final settings.I am not really thrilled with this ProTune (yet), ... at least on the fork. The shock seems fully dialed. Everything with the fork seems much less poppy and violent than I like. 85 psi, so I dropped that to 75 . Better, but still no joy. 65 is probably the sweet spot.
That said, I have not really had a ride where I can open things up due to my tire problems.
Biggest difference seems to be the the lack of rebound. ProTune has rebound at 7 clicks and I was running 14 clicks stock Fox 36.
Might need to hook the shitty ShockWiz back up and see what's what.

Drop your psi to 70, then do the compress and release test to make sure your tire doesn't hop off the ground when you release. if it does, add rebound damping. If it doesn't hop off the ground, reduce rebound damping until it does hop, then add back in a click or two. Ta Da! Perfect rebound damping!
I just added a token to mine (Joe had 3 in there already - now 4) and reduced pressure to 68psi. Joe had me at 85. I will take it for its first test ride on familiar terrain tomorrow afternoon - I hope. Aiming for Whiting Luge etc, but I will probably not have time. My daughter has a water polo clinic in Fountain Valley that ends at 1 pm. I think it gets dark around 4:45. No way I'm going to get home, drop the kid, grab the bike and make it to Wahoos for a 2.5 hour ride. Sounds like a quick Rock-It run is about all I'll have time for.
My Luftkappe is in the cart, waiting for me to click "check out." I'll give the fork a few runs before I Kappe it.

I'm down to 195 now. You told him you wanted an aggressive tune, i told him I wanted it supple off the top and plush.Wut? Joe had me at 85 psi @ 192 riding weight. You weigh more than me, so that does not seem right.
Next time I ride with you we can swap bikes ... and feel free to make adjustments to mine. I just want to go fast.

FWIW - I've always preferred a supple fork, even when I was racing DH in my 40s. So get off my lawn, wippersnapper!195 riding weight? I wake up at 182ish after my first pee. 192 geared up.
I am in no way mad at the tune. Like I said, I have yet to have a fully confident ride due to my shitty DHRII fails.
I do like how planted my bike feels. I feel like if I want to go faster ... aggressive is the way. If I was in my 60's, well supple.
Me too!Yes - I have the week off.
Welp - didn't get back from water polo clinic (and lunch with my darling daughter) in time for a ride. So I'll go tomorrow morning before my 3 pm Hip consultation.

Hi all. I hoped to dust the old Marin today. When I went to air up the tires I noticed this. Looks fresh, not sure when or how it happened. My question is, is this something easily fixed? Do I need to know how to build a wheel to fix or probably pay a lot for at the bike shop? They're stock wheels, probably not great, can I still upgrade these on a budget? Any input would be great, thanks guys.
