I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

I had to work yesterday......then decided to head out for a early morning Sunday ride to make up for it....til I looked at the weather where I was gonna head to, and the wind was already blowing 30 mph with expectations of it getting worse.

So I have a short window today once the wind dies down before we head out to dinner with the family. We'll see if I get to post in the other thread later.

I was up, dressed and ready... Then I looked out the window and saw the patio umbrellas flying around. :Roflmao
Holy crap, I feel better about bailing on the singletrack now. Evening spin sounds like a good program unless it’s still mach’ing.

No ride today, but that's ok. .lots of sea turtles in that little area.

There have been a metric Sh!t-ton of whales off your own coast this winter and spring - Blues, Grays, False Killer Whales, etc.

But Hawaii water is nicer to hang out in! Go take a surf lesson at Kihei, like Ruby did.

She's looking good on that board, And love the Shaka!

That pic is probably from right across the street from where I'm staying. They do surf and paddle board lessons there every day, I watch them from the balcony.

8 years old. First time on a board.

Get out there and catch some brah!

Ooops I quoted myself and meant to quote @Danimal I suck. :(

I was with family all weekend for my dad's memorial. No condolences or sympathies needed - y'all did that two months ago when he passed. 95 years is a good run and taking your last breath at home in the presence of a loved one with no tubes or intervention happening is about all we can ask for as we move on. We had a small ceremony yesterday with 18 people and added a few via Zoom.

Somewhere in all of that I took my daughter out on the golf course for her first time - twilight yesterday. She has hit balls at the driving range, but never been on the course. She had moments of adequacy, moments of utter frustration and moments of extreme, unbridled, jump-up-and-down elation. Luckily, these moments were on the last hole we played. She was stoked and so was I.

I'll see if I remember how to ride a bike next weekend. Or surf. or golf with my daughter. Or all of it!

It's Sunday.....and I haven't even touched my bike since Tuesday night. :(

I've been fighting a cold all week.

I got my 2nd vaccine shot on Thursday.....no sweat, no problems, no complications.

I've also been working 6 days a week for the last 3 weeks....this is really throwing a wrench into my schedule. :bang:

Maybe today, I will get to post in the other thread.

Had to roll up to SLO yesterday to check out the daughter’s apartment for next year. I really should have brought a bike and made plans to stay the night, it was really nice out.

We did visit the student farm store and picked up flatiron steak, jalapeño cheese sausage, many jars of jam, and a couple pints of ice cream. I highly recommend all of it.

Well, since you are being pushy about it, I didn't ride my bike today because my nether regions feel like I am straddling burning sandpaper after yesterday's ride. This riding twice a month thing doesn't work out real well. Although, frankly I've had two-week breaks before and not been this sore. Same shorts as always yesterday, so can't blame that. Maybe it was the new "flaming coals and shards o' glass" saddle I was apparently using yesterday.

Those are 6g lighter than last year's model!
