I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

No riding for me or at all this week. Nothing since last weekend in Marin. Caught a nasty flu virus at some point. Went to bed Wed night feeling fine, woke up with what I thought was a cold Thursday. Three days full of fever, coughing, aches, weakness, and here I am! Juuuust starting to feel better this evening, but the coughing still sucks. Hopefully not bronchitis. Hoping I feel good enough tomorrow to at least go for a short/flat ride!

Feel better! I had it, too... Lasted about 3 days.

I did not ride today. I shopped. Good God, I shopped.

Didn't ride yesterday as I was a little busy.

I'm not riding my bike today, I've picked up a nasty upper respiratory infection. Damn I hate these things...On way to Dr in an hour...
Not to mention it is raining.

Mikie, in this area gear don't matter. It's mostly clay based soil and will turn your bike into a 80 lb dumbbell you'll carry out in no time!
Wheels, what wheels?

Had a ride planned for this morning, but the wind woke me up at 3am blowing the patio furniture all over the yard... no better by 7am so cancelled (don't like riding in the wind much).
So instead went to the cemetery to take flowers and pay respects to mom in law. Have you ever seen a cemetery at christmastime? Amazing all the decorations put all over on the graves. After, had a good old fashioned lunch/brunch with dad in law, nothing fancy, over easy eggs mopped up with toast, bacon, hashbrowns. It's been a good day in a strange way...

Got a call from the Po Po last night at 12:35 am. Someone or two someone's had flocked two rooms of a public facility with fire extinguishers, setting off fire alarms and making a huge mess. This morning was spent investigating. This afternoon, my daughter and I spent time with a co-worker's 6 yo daughter in hospital receiving chemo... The girls dressed up as reindeer and went through the hospital halls pulling a wagon full of presents singing Rudolf, to the delight of the nurses and other patients, bringing the IV stand along for the ride, of course. She's been receiving chemo, radiation and surgery since last June, yet was singing, dancing and playing with my daughter, whom she's never met until today. Tomorrow, she has surgery to re-install the mainline tubing that came out prior to our arrival. I cannot comprehend how tired of the endless procedures, pain and sickness she must feel, yet you couldn't see it on her face or in her demeanor.

No, I didn't ride today, but I have never felt more fortunate. Cranking up the prayer machine once again. If you believe in any higher power, throw a prayer up for a little 6 yo girl named Taylor.

Thanks, Chris. This keeps me grounded.
