HOCKEY IS BACK!!!!!

Another barn burner in Edmonton headed to overtime! 10 goals in three periods makes me think a team from the east is gonna win the Cup Stanley.

Edit: 1 minute and some change later.... Hey Landeskog, don't touch the Campbell Bowl! Landeskog and MacKinnon touched it!

@Redman are there any Rangers left over from the 2014 run to the Cup Finals?

Ok AVs held up their end of the bargain. They came from 2 goals down twice tonight. Both teams were gritty. AVs are 12-2 in the playoffs so far, but none of that will matter against the talented, disciplined teams from the east.

Let’s go Rangers!!! (A chant I will only use for two to four more games)

Casual hockey fan here but tuned in to watch the third period of last night's game. All I can say is WOW!! How much fun was that.

But no mention of the When they brought in the expert to review the last goal and he said.

Holy s*** live on TV and everyone laughed and then he came back and said Oh holy shucks!

Hysterical!!!

That was the Kings' record as the eighth seed heading to the Cup Final in 2012 against the NJ Devils when they won the Cup in 6 games. I think they tied the best playoff record in the modern NHL era at 16-4. This is why I hope the Final this year goes 7 games...and also game 7s are epic anyway.

It seems like I'll be spending less time outdoors this year because I want to watch all the finals games. They really seem so promising emotionally.

Go....avalanche :cry::speechless:
Oh man - that sucks. I really really really really wanted the Rangers / Avalanche matchup and it looked like we were actually going to get it.

Well, as you said, the Rangers exceeded the odds and expectations getting past the first round.

I don't know if CO can match up to TB - but we shall see.

Go Avs - one game at a time, one shift at a time.

Some local aka prior Ducks involvement.
Corey Perry will be in his 3rd consecutive Stanley Cup Final. On three different teams. Lost the last two.
Pat Maroon is also on the Lightning.
Manson and Cogliano play for the Av's.

I'll be rooting for the Avs since Corey Perry is a Massengill product. I've never liked the guy.

Is Cogliano still injured? I think he broke some digits blocking a shot.

If Brayden Point for the Lightning comes back in games 1 or 2. I say it's over for the Avalanche. Hopefully he does not come back at all. Tampa is a dirty team... Stamkos, Kucherov, Killorn, Hagel, Cirelli all dirty players taking LOTS of cheap shots behind the play. This is the first time since I was a Kings fan in the early 90's that I have wanted the Western Conference to hoist Lord Stanley's Cup.

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!

Game 1 (Denver, CO): That's what playoff hockey should look like!!!! Two great teams giving it everything they have. The Lightning were down two goals TWICE in this game but tied it at 3 in the 2nd period. After a loud, hard-fought 3rd period - they were still knotted at 3. It took an incredible three-man tic-tac-toe passing sequence to finally get a puck past TB Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy.

AVs get the first game 4-3 in OT.

Go AVs!!! One game at a time, one shift at a time.

The Avalanche are pretty good…
Not a bad start to game 2 for the team from Colorado.

EDIT:
Ummmmm…. What just happened here?

7-0 CO with 10 minutes remaining. Holy domination Batman!

Yup. Wise prophecy. TB blasts back 6-2. Buckle up for game 4!

Dang! Quoting yourself... settle down big guy. The next two games (at least) are going to be some bang up hockey. I honestly don't care who wins Tampa or Colorado. Just watching two kick ass teams battle it out for the most prestigous trophy in all sports is winning in itself. So good to see the bolts come alive. And, even better to see some scrums and emotions from both sides towards the end of the game. Is it Wednesday night yet?

Oh MY GOD!! I agree with you.

Except the "I honestly don't care who wins" part.

LET'S GO RANGERS!

Anybody see Auston Matthews at the awards ceremony last night? No doubt, trying to pull off his best Ron Jeremy look :Roflmao

The worst part of having a series finale game in the next few days is that we’ll be stuck with baseball on TV. At least Wimbledon and Le Tour are around the corner.

Wow.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see game 4, but WOW! Tough play all around and a 3-2 OT Avs! The game winner from Kadri - a man who had his shooting thumb surgically repaired on June 4. So many guys playing hurt and even injured. I love this game!

Avs are up 3-1 heading back to Denver for Game 5! 15 wins - 3 losses. Only need one more!!!

Go AVs! One game at a time, one shift at a time!

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nhl...rs, one,as being on the ice when Kadri scored.

I'd say it's a legitimate claim... 6 men were on the ice. Game 5 Friday!

Oh I forgot to add my comments after Friday's Game 5. OK - here's my comment:  :poop:

AVs lost 3-2 in a very tight contest. Only huge difference between the team that I could see was face-offs. TB seemed to win about 75% of them. Hard to win a game if you don't have the puck.

The stats sheet shows a significant advantage in Face Off wins to TB, but if it showed the stat as the game progressed, CO lost most of the FOs late in the 3rd period when they needed them the most. Oh and if GVA means "Give Aways" then there's another nail in the coffin. Hard to win a game if you don't have the puck.

Game 6 tonight in TB. CO still leads the series 3-2, but we've seen this before. TB are resilient, determined and won't go away.
