Who's Riding Where???

Your lack of interest in riding anything outside of Aliso, Luge and perhaps Laguna is amusing. Comfort zones suck.
New trails are fun. I have a spot reserved for you if you are interested.
So Prescott and Wrightwood don't count?

As you know, I really haven't been riding much at all over the past few years as my interests have been either ski/snowboard or surf, with mtb thrown in every once in a while so I don't forget how. Only since getting banished from surfing have I returned to being a regular mt biker. And I am having fun right now going for short local rides on wonderful trails that I enjoy. Sure - I can go ride Limestone - but in all of your reports about riding there, all I see is crowds of hikers and boring trails. Maybe I'm wrong.

Probably gonna keep with the boring repetition that infuriates so many (and has since STR days) and hit Whiting Luge Whiting tomorrow, and then try out the skis on Sunday. My hip will not allow me to snowboard this season, I am sure. So a two-plankin' I shall go!

Side note in defense of repetition - if you've ever lived near a ski area or a golf course, you've probably had a season pass. If you had a season pass, you probably skied or snowboarded the same ski area most of the time, or played the same golf course over and over. I happen to live near great trails that I enjoy. Repetition is better than driving an hour or two for boring trails. Besides, at my age, I don't remember anything, so each ride is a brand new experience!

Wait - what was I talking about?

I do not know how to to the official forum invite thing (which seems to be a point of contention 'round these parts) but ... Bommer Canyon super rare open access day on Friday December 8th, 10AMish @ the Quail parking lot, literally right off the 405.

Bommer is not Limestone .. you will not be disappointed from any lack of skills challenge. :alien:

Even 909ers are invited to enjoy some of the funnest :cautious: OC trails with at least one of OC's best riders. That said, my hip hurts since I am somehow 53, so I will try and keep up. :cautious::bang:

Your hip hurts purely out of extreme empathy for me! :D

Here's how you do a Trailhead Invite . Go to Forums and scroll down to and click on Trailhead. Click on "Create New Ride Invite" and you will be prompted to fill in the deets (that's cool-people talk for details).

I am signed up for that day as well. 10 is a reasonable hour for me.
You're talking about the trailhead lot with the bathroom next to the fire station, right?
I'd probably meet you there.
I'm a really slow climber and suck at all things tech.

Yes, the one right off the 405. I am a slow climber and suck at all things tech too, I just pretend I don't. We'll go slow while DDD bombs the downs like a madman.
Yeah, meet us there @ 10, should be fun!

I guarantee I will be bringing up the rear on every climb, and my DH game is with the B-team right now.

Haha! Three sandbaggers are going for a ride on Friday...

Wait - what was I talking about?

I lived 30 minutes from Alta, Snowbird, Solitude AND Brighton, for 3 years. An hour(ish) from Deer Valley Park City. 90 minutes from whatever is around Ogden.

Skied exactly zero times. No season pass.

Golfed twice. I can drive a golf ball 2o0+ yards. Unfortunately that usually means 50 yds toward the pin and 150 yds in some other direction. Gave that up quick, given the cost.

I did have a deer tag every year, though, so there's that.

That's unfortunate because NOTHING beats snowboarding on a powder day....NOTHING!!

I disagree...that's the beauty of it. I had and have other interests, and no interest at all in skiing or snowboarding. I've done it. I do enjoy water skiing, but that's also uber expensive. The boat thing, and gas. So I don't do that either.

Skiing/snowboarding? Meh. But yeah, that's just me.

But DAYUM if the deer weren't flippin' tasty.
