I love that initial climb. Not! I have to take about 3 rests on the way up but I don't HAB it anymore.

I usually clean it, but only because it is at the start. If it was towards the end, well, no. It is nice ending the ride with that downhill though.

Wow! I've never known anyone who actually lives in Estes Park. It's a beautiful little town at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Even back in the 1970s, Estes Park was considered a "tourist trap" - meaning on any given day, there were thousands of tourists milling about the myriad t-shirt and souvenir stores, cafes and coffee shops. Think Big Bear.

Yeah, I made it, but barely. They would not let me climb back up so I took Shady back to Quail.

I dropped out after @Rumpled said there was no easy exit after going down into the valley. I figured to cut the losses early and not bonk down there just in case. Definitely will have to get more imtb rides going!!

Well, @Rumpled was not lying ... there are no easy exits. We ended up doing four of those exits, all of which required some hike a bike. The downs are worth it though.
