Cougar crest up to SOT then dont shoot me trail
Once I get on Lizard, I think I'm good to connect to Camarillo and back to the parking lot. But I'm not entirely sure how to to connect to Missing Link/Fenceline from Willow, and then Missing Link/Fenceline to Lizard. I checked out Youtube (see link below) and it looks like at the top of Willow you take the 2nd right on Bommer Spur, stay right onto Bommer Ridge, Left on Morro Ridge, enter Crystal Cove, Right on Missing Link/Fenceline, Right on Bommer Ridge, Left on Lizard. Here is the YouTube link I watched of this route for reference. The rider links his ride to Strava, but it is a different route than the video.
Any advice would be helpful. And if anyone feels like suffering up Willow early Monday am and pointing us in the right direction, let me know!
Any interest in a midnight rendezvous?Hey South OC riders and those familiar with our trails.
I have a friend and his son visiting next week and staying in Laguna Beach. They want to ride, and I plan on taking them to Laguna Coast. I've ridden there several times, but never really connected everything for the loop that I think best fits their skill level:
Up Willow
Down Missing Link/Fenceline
Down Lizard
Down Camarillo
Stage Coach (I think) back to parking lot

We are starting around 7:30am which is early enough for me!Any interest in a midnight rendezvous?
Wow, climbing that thing would be gnarly. I always make a loop out of it by climbing Polique Cyn FR then cutting across at the top. The finish is a DH on CCT.couple clips from day before yesterday and today

I've climbed it a couple times. A few spots are way too difficult for me - in particular that spot @scan just showed. Other than those few places, it's actually an enjoyable climb.Wow, climbing that thing would be gnarly. I always make a loop out of it by climbing Polique Cyn FR then cutting across at the top. Cougar Crest TrailCCT?
I like climbing as much as I like going back down. Gotta earn it with the burn. But climbing CCT would require some HAB except for the extremely skilled. I prefer to sit and spin.I used to ride it that way and it's a long uphill to Cougar crest and then its over in 10 min..
If u ride up CC then its a fun uphill and all downhill to Polique Road

I have ridden Tioga road a few times, at sundown. WATCH OUT for the deerThis sounds like alot of pain.
Tioga Road will be open to bikes on Friday, July 21. For their safety, cyclists must obey the traffic light just east of Olmsted Point.
I'm up and not happy with the temps. It would seem that today will be warmer than expected. I guess I will keep it local.Well, I am up early. I guess I should ride somewhere ... sooooo Santiago Oaks.

So, a balmy 79°?That's why I am up early, trying to beat the heat. It is supposed to be about 10-12 degrees hotter out here than yesterday and no relief from the swamp humidity.
