Who's Riding Where???

Don't leave anything valuable in your car/truck. Break-ins in the forest are out of control.
I actually saw a car get broken into at Mill Creek summit on Saturday morning. Tons of people there with a bike aid station, all the parking spots taken. Didn't think anything unusual when a car pulled up and double parker, figured he was going to use the bathroom. Look up a second later as I hear a pop and he's opening the door to a parked car whose alarm starts going off. He looks around, sees me watching him and shuts the door. I yelled over hey is that your car. He gets in his black beemer and drives off.

Did you happen to get the license plate number and a description of the guy and if there was anyone else inside the car?

That happened to me twice in Angeles Crest so I am trying to share any info I can with the LASO.

Can't read the full plate on my phone, a couple characters might be a bit obscured or covered. Maybe it's more visible on a computer screen. Guy was Latino with short hair, avg height and well dressed with dark pants and sweater with (I think) big maroon and orange or yellow bands around the body on a darker background. Dont think there was anyone else in the car. This was Saturday around 930am at Mill Creek summit.

I haven't ridden for a week and a half and feel like the altitude will kill me. For @DangerDirtyD to be back by 11AM would need early start, 7 ish. I'm OK with that.
A week and a half? Is that supposed to elicit some form of response of shock? Talk to me when you haven't ridden for months.

You'll be fine with the altitude, unless you are generally more sensitive to altitude than most.

Sawmill Trail tomorrow off of the 74 above PCE. I’m rolling with a small to mid size camel back plus frame water bottle. I’m hoping it’s in the low 70’s up there to start. It’s currently 116 deg. here in Palm Springs.

I rode it years ago 9 mile climb and heavenly temps at the top. We actually took a nap up there. The single track was tight and overgrown but fun just the same. We descended into 108* temps at the road. Then got the hell outa there! I hope it all goes well.
