Who's Riding Where???

Believe it or not, I'm doing a road ride on the gravel bike....

Not a bike ride but.......10" of fresh snow fell overnight in Flagstaff and its currently dumping so it's time to make my first trip to Arizona Snowbowl to RIDE my snowboard in some powder. Buying online ahead of time, I was able to get (2) days of tickets for $73.

I was looking at their trail map a few weeks back. Looks like a fun hill for being small. The stuff you hike up could be fun.

Snow quality, even the fresh powder, was sub-par on the lower mountain. I was just getting ready to bail when they opened more terrain and up top was much, much better snow. I Went from leaving at 12:30 to leaving at 3:30. Today, they opened the gondola which goes even higher and I did 9 laps in the trees. Not Utah quality snow but very good. On my last lap,I followed some locals to the legal "out of bounds" area....all that green area on the far right of the trail map. I've skied or ridden 41 years and that was the longest continuous powder run I've ever been on. There was ONE other track in the 500? 1000? acres I rode. The bad part, which I didn't know, was that it dropped me on the road 3.9miles from the resort. I hitch hiked for the first time in my life.

Going to ride my local trail before the lightning storm starts at 2:00 pm.
What conducts electricity least, aluminum, titanium, or carbon ?
If I get zapped by a bolt will you hate me because I would then have an e-bike.....
lightning travels 1000 +ft to the sky, the arc travel down that path to the ground. I think you are safe because on a bike you are at least 6" above the ground. "What conducts electricity least". the paint, unless its powder coated which most commercial items are. but Silver, gold. copper, al ally, ti, carbon in order of resistivity. A lightning bolt has at least 200,000 VDC when an arc is established. So the resistance of the bike frame is inconsequential. Plus normally lightning is accompanied with rain. Pure Water is non-conductive, but rain water is not pure, and trail water is dirty. So riding in a lightning storm one must ask themselves Do You Feel Lucky?
happy trails to heaven

I imagine the long powder run was worth the hitching a ride.

I will be having a farewell tour on 3 of my local trails on my SS before the gravel conversion.
This Saturday will be my neighborhood trails, Sunday will be Hensley lake, then after the next rain session it will be the flatlands.
Today I will be riding the mower and finishing the lower half of the property.

@mtnbikej I have today off says Oaks is Open...
What do you think ... Mudfest or OK?

I might enter through actual park front, saw pictures of the lowland trails between Irvine Park and Chutes Climn looked like a river!

But perhaps the high one... Road Runner... Well probably gonna ride out there...

Not Up For / Time for MS - MWY.
