Who's Riding Where???

I will be road riding a hill by the house after I set up my bike to climb.
2.9 miles with 1432 elevation gain.
It will make me or break me.

There are better non-motorized vehicles for enjoying snow than bicycles...

So no lifts? Sweet!

I remember using snow shoes to hike up the mountain below the Mt Baldy lifts. Then tent camping at the Baldy bowl for a couple nights. Was great fun, when I was 14/15. Haha..... not so much now.

These days parents would be thrown in jail for allowing boys to be boys.

looks like the water tank hill is going to be on again later in the day. Going to add another lap unless I get wonky from my lack of the precision skill set.
Happy trails after the rain.

We got a lot of rain 3.6" in the last 24 according to the DWP rainfall map. 7.2" in the last 7 days. It is going to take at least 4 days for the trails to harden up

Mammoth is reporting 262" (23 feet) at 11,000 ft. for December. It is +250% of a normal December, they say this is a record December, best ever for them

Road ride tomorrow is in the cards. Riding from near cooks corner to Aliso Woods, on bike paths most of the way. Not a fast ride, but will be fun and mellow. have to keep the eyes open for sand and puddles on the under passes.
Will end up about 30 miles or slightly more.

Where is a safe place to park for this ride? I'm staying near the 5 and OSO pkwy. Also, is Satiago Cyn an out-n-back type of a ride? Thanks!

You won't be riding, at all. Take your skis. Trust me.
These days, snowboarding and skiing are collectively referred to as “riding” as well.

Unless you meant a snowboard will be a bad idea so bring skis. I brought and used both.

Unlike many of you Hooligans, I don’t like riding a bike in snow, soaking rain or heat. There are other sports to do in snow or heat.

Not familiar with the area, what streets would connect? ( less traffic lights the better...) Thanks!
Could ride up Oso turn onto Antonio and head into RSM then a small dogleg to get onto Trabuco Canyon Rd which will drop you out at Cooks Corner. From there down the Aliso Creek bike path (although part of it is closed due to road works) or continue along Santiago Canyon to check out Modjeska or Silverado?

Oso might be a fight but Antonio - Trabuco Canyon will not have to many traffic lights to contend with. Some people think Trabuco is a bit sketchy on a bike but I've never had problems through there.
