Who's Riding Where???

I may be riding waves at Trail 1 this morning. As long as I don't make the same mistake as yesterday (waiting too long to do something).
Quoting myself is so wrong, but...

I did NOT go to Trail 1 to surf this morning. Instead I rode my bicycle in LCWP. I DID go to Trail 1 with my daughter this evening. It was glorious - except for the rocks beating up our feet at the shoreline. Water was mid 60s - about what it was much of the summer. Dolphins joined us. Sunset was pure - calm and cloudless.

Morning Turf and Sunset Surf. Beat that, suckas! You can keep your "cuppies." I've got my own measure of "winning."

Haha! I called him a slowpoke, and he turned into a dumpster fire.

No, the statement I was replying to was inflammatory. I flamed. Then I doused my flame. I seem to have taken the bait of the Master Baiter.

This is one of those "Prime Vs. Prime" questions. Prime Sugar Ray (either of them) Vs. Prime Money Mayweather? I have Mayweather .... but opinions may vary. It is unfortunate to not see the battle. From what I can tell, we have two premier downhillers on the forum ... so, who's best pilot?

If you are referring to me as one of them, I am not, nor have I ever claimed to be a premier downhiller. I like to descend, but I can't even keep up with @Lost Kiwi on the Luge on his Whyte death machine.

@doublewide is the only one on this forum who can claim to be a premier downhiller, since he frequently won the expert class in DH at Fontana by wide margins in his age group (and most other age groups and several pros). I think @mtnbikej used to race DH too, but not sure at what level and to what degree of success.

To be fair, my money is on you. I figure you would take DDD out in a fair fight. Especially in OC.
And The Luge ... nobody on this forum can match @Lost Kiwi . His Strava time is ridiculously fast. If DDD really wants a challenge ... good luck .

I do understand your Strava position. However, the "comparisons" are sort of the fun of Strava. At the end of the day, it does not really matter who is fastest. Nobody is getting paid. For me, part of the fun is chasing times of guys I know are fast. There are 2-3 guys on this forum I look up after every ride. Win some, lose some.

I would like to see your times to I can chase them too, but like I said, I respect your decision to keep them hidden.

Heyheyhey, don’t make me pull this car over.

This thread is the sacred counterpart to the I Rode thread. A place where dreams are made and mercilessly crushed. Where we spray the fine and aromatic vapor of our highest aspirations. Scare ourselves with the possible. (Or not possible that day.) Strive to be our best rider, whatever that means. It’s a community garden of hope and stoke that we all contribute to and feed off. High quality produce is worth its effort.

I miss you, too, @DangerDirtyD. We’ll make something ridiculous happen; 2022 is brimming with potential. 2021 might still be!

So…who’s riding where?

People are riding all over the place, just not alone at midnight.

The fastest guy ever on the Luge used to lurk on this forum often. Great guy.

He's also the fastest climber on the forum. No-one is even close. But you've never seen him post about any of that... In fact, I don't think he's ever posted. If he comes back, he'd probably get a kick out of all the Strava talk.

Lemme take a crack at speaking on his behalf and assume he doesn’t get much stimulation here.

Hold my beer.......
Hell ya! I wanna play too!

@Lost Kiwi , did you manage to get your MT5s to stop rubbing the rotors?
Laundry list of excuses coming your way :D
  1. I don't think anyone is quick down there at the moment, its probably in some of the worst shape I have ever seen it, deep dust, big braking bumps, blown out all over the place
  2. I'm a one trick pony and the Luge is my backyard, if I wasn't ok down there then I should probably find something else to do (a spot of crochet with @Danimal perhaps :p)
  3. Since my last crash on there I've stopped pushing it (for now) and most days at the moment I'm on the single speed. It desperately needs some rain before I'll start chasing my best time again, I do have a tantalizingly close goal :sneaky:
If you guys do want to meet up for a run I'm always down. @herzalot, we should organize something, no-ones replaced the flag yet.
@DangerDirtyD replied on the other thread, brakes are all good now. I think they wore themselves back into alignment.
