The good news: it's breezy, Monrovia it's relatively smoke free. Can clearly see the front range.... Can see the array on mt Wilson, but also much white smoke in the eastern slope...

Cherry... Did they close the parking on forest hill? I went in the summer and there were signs... So I parked at GSC...

You can still park a little lower down. They just want to keep the immediate area near the gate free of traffic so that emergency vehicles can access the area without conjestion.

It looks like they are doing everything they can to contain the fire at this critical point. I sure hope they can do it.

Welp, riding in my area this morning is officially scratched off the list. The AQI jumped up into high 100s over night. It doesn't look horrible outside but the smell of smoke is present.

EDIT: It looks HORRIBLE outside my window as well.

And at some point, we'll start talking about Manzanita Trail outside of Wrightwood. Zoom out just a bit and it's in view on the fire map.

Once I saw the word Pearblossom in relation to the Bobcat fire I started thinking about Wrightwood .

El Dorado Fire from Hwy, 38 near Angelus Oaks

Looks like it came right down to Hwy 38 right where Cold Creek goes under the road but hasn't jumped. Cold Creek is what feeds the waterfall on the climb up Middle Control.
