The Automobile Thread

I rolled up behind an e-tron GT RS on my way home in Laguna. Gloss gray. Best looking car I've EVER seen, from every angle. I may have had a bit of an accident in my shorts...

Best I could get:

Oooo, looks like Kemora Grey. Was it sort of blueish, or just that clay-like grey (Nardo)? I agree that they are just stunning, and much more so in motion. Best interior I've seen on any car. And so fast it will make you ill.

New to me 2004 X5 3.0 manual 6-speed. I couldn't stomach the price of manual E61/E91s these days. Bid $30k on a E61 535xi and lost by a longshot. Bid 14k on a E91 328xi and lost. Bid $42k on a CTS-V Wagon and lost by $15k+.

Hey @stevers the wrecker near me in San Berdoo has an '04 X5 with sport package... it has heated leather sport seats. I don't know if you have those, but if you need a set and don't mind pulling your own, these are in good condition: https://www.lkqpickyourpart.com/loc...art_-_San_Bernardino-291/recents/2004-bmw-x5/

If interested, get out there soon, people descend on these cars something crazy!

The black leather definitely looks like it has less cracking than mine, but my interior is gray. Thanks though!

In other news, I almost canceled my Rivian R1S order due to the price changes, but will keep it now that they're honoring the original price when ordered.

I spent the last 3 years trying to work up the gumption to drop 1000 hard earned dollars on a Rivian order. When the prices were announced they sounded too good to be true when compared to the competition. Turns out that was right.

The folks leaving my office to work for Rivian are tight lipped about what they are going to be doing there. But judging by why they did before, Rivian hasn’t yet decided what to make the car out of. I really don’t want to be the first one on my block to get a permanent service loaner from Rivian.

Got home today with a new truck. Spent most of last year without a running vehicle and since December without one at all.
Worst time to buy a vehicle, waited three months from ordering and felt lucky to 'only pay MSRP".

Dude paying MSRP is a huge win in this market, especially for a Taco. I'm gearing up to sell my Acura TSX wagon. It's 11 years old and comps are selling for $18k+. Crazy market these days.

Side question about imtb - any issues posting a car for sale on the classifieds? 1.25 hitch + roof rack would be good for mtb-ers.

The hits keep coming. We (Audi) got news on Friday that there is going to be another big production halt due to the fact that our wiring harnesses and parts of our grills come from Ukrainian suppliers. This affects Audi, VW, Porsche, and apparently Mercedes and BMW as well. The email that was then sent to dealership management on Monday said 45k - 60K cars (just on the Audi side) will be delayed while a new supplier is sourced.

Sorry to hear that.

"The hits keep coming" is the most commonly phrase spoken these days.
