Snow Sports and/or Surfing

You were a snowboard God today.

Yes, yes I am actually:rolleyes:. Good times other than your hip/knees issue which hopefully find a resolution soon.

Here's the Strava screenshot minus the 2 runs after I turned it off.

Ho Hum - life in So Cal. Great ride at Whiting-Luge-Whiting yesterday and this today...

At least it's not dirt anymore...

A bit of snow 1-3-24.jpg

In fact, here are some fresh tracks for all y'all..

Freshies? 1-3-24.jpg

My Apple Maps told me to save 15 minutes by going Lone Pine Canyon. Last time I did that, it was sketchy with 10" of unplowed snow and 30 stuck cars. I made it.

Today, similar situation (only a lot less snow). Fresh unplowed snow at 5000' and a couple of cars couldn't make it up a hill. One yokel tried to go around, but failed and was stuck in the left lane (oncoming lane) of the two-lane highway. So what did I do? I went around the group using the left (rocky gravel) shoulder! Buh bye! When we rejoined the 2 in Wrightwood, there was no one on the road. All the way to the parking lot - nobody. Turns out the 2 was closed! Yay us!

Empty lot...

12 runs, 12,000' Stopped off to do some schoolwork at about 1:30.

Day 1 at Beaver Creek. Supposedly 1” overnight but there was 3-4” at the far edges of the runs. I ducked into the trees a few time with mixed results. None of them sucked but none were fantastic either. Overall coverage was solid for the most part. As you can tell by the photos, monster crowds on the open runs. Strava says 12 runs, 39K’

Looks cold, but empty and loads of fun. It's no Mt. High, but it'll do!

Yep, light rain, apx 10mph winds, not best of conditions, and damn I still saw some awesome runs. I'm guessing 12-15 ft swells.
And to state the obvious, lady surfers have great looking bottoms. :inlove:
I don’t understand why the females get all the cheekies while boys are expected to cover even the thighs. I wanted to take photos of my girls at swim class, but the lifeguards’ ass cheeks made me feel weird about using a camera at the pool.

Go to a high school swim meet if you want to feel really awkward! Tiny speedos for the boys and "I'm not a creeper, I swear" butt-crack thongs for the girls. I think some pervert coach decided the girls will all swim faster if their butt cheeks are hanging out.

I used to think women’s volleyball uniforms were bad. Same perv coach thought they could jump higher

How do you handle it with Ruby?
Her age group suits are not rectal floss yet! I'm hoping the HS water polo suits might change before she gets there! OMG - that's next year!

The interesting thing is, HS, Collegiate and Olympic water polo girls are all shapes and sizes, including some very large girls. None of them seem fazed by their exposure when they get into or out of the pool. Not sure if that's a healthy body image or just numb to their exposure.

Back to the thread.

I wanted to see if I could actually ski, so I went up today for the first time in about a month. Started out skiing like some old dude I don't even recognize, but then the body cooperated for about 6 1/2 more runs! Snow was great. no lift line. 1600' per run. 8 runs. 12,800' by my count. Hip hurt like hell on the first half of the first run and the last half of the last run. Home by 2:00.

Those 4 HS years are the fastest! Blink your eyes and they're graduating! Treasure the moments!
I dunno about that. I've been in high school since 1978, minus four years of college.

Oh you mean my daughter. Yeah - every time I hear a precious 4-year old voice somewhere I get all misty eyed for those magic years. 13 now and she won't give me a proper hug. :stop: :(

Sundance yesterday and Snowbasin today. 6” of fresh at Sundance but it was after it got crazy warm
& then from overnight so not ideal but still fun. Definitely my least favorite mountain layout in Utah. We hit Snowbasin every year and it might be my wife’s favorite resort. Only 1” overnight but we found tons of leftovers in the trees.

Been riding at Park City & the Canyons the last (3) days and we’ve had 18”, 12” and 4-6” of classic, lightweight Utah powder the past 3 days. One guy with us said “it’s been the best 3 days of his snowboarding life. We’ve been spending 90% of our time in the trees.

My son’s buddy from high school 10 years ago. He’d never been to a resort that had a quad chair.
