New Bike Day!

I've thought about it but I will continue to use the SC Hightower with the robust Cane Creek shock I have on it. It's a great suspension combo for all the pounding going downhill on the last day of riding.
Oh trust me having done it on a Ripley and a Hightower I get it. The HT is a great tool for the job as long as you're in shape to pedal it that far (and I'm currently nowhere near that fitness level). I'm happy you get to do the ride again this year and hope to be able to join you again in the future.

I got stopped tonight with the dropper being a 1/2 inch to long. This dropper was originally purchased for my Hightower and not for this bike. The bike is assembled and I'm down to sag settings and a few other tidbits. Bell, tube and Co2 etc. Here's a pic in the poor lighting of my garage.

Very nice congrats. I see you running wireless with the AXS, very clean look.

Cool looking bike. Love the Espresso colorway. Reach is a bit aggressive for me, but with rear travel so easily bumped to 140 by changing the shock stroke, a 150 fork could reign in the reach a bit, slacken the HTA, and probably make for a pretty killer 1-bike solution.

BTW, I fully support the Spur with a 130 fork idea. That's what I'm running now, and I'm loving it.

Heya @buggravy
Cool!
How tall / inseam and size Spur?

So since I’m a man of my word… I did something. My heart rate was still blasting at 160+. What am I doing wrong?

Fun bike though. Sixfinity linkage is incredible. They need to move this over to their acoustic line. Efficient climbing with the motor off but plush and poppy on the way down.

You are a brave man, posting that here in anti-motor land!

Worthy of a call for a longer discussion. I had a comparably built 160e and now this Levo. Levo is much better integrated; much better motor and battery; much better computer and display. It’s also a little more comfortable riding position (but that’s a personal thing). Mostly the motor, integration and computer. Riding both back to back it’s obvious this is the third generation Levo with lots of engineering and the Yeti is first generation. That said, the Yeti is better looking. It’s such a great looking bike. I so so wanted to love the yeti. I’ll not get another bike with a Shimano motor. The Brose and Bosch are both very good.

Interesting. What’s different?

My 120 pound middle aged mom of four girlfriend is looking for a mountain bike. Tested a Stumpjumper, probably going to order the Evo.

Mountain bikes don't have motors.
I have two that don’t have motors and now one that does. Both types are bikes I ride on the mountain. Both are fun in their own way.

I understand how you feel. I’m not into electric cars.

Well, New Bike Day / First Ride (the actual Day was nearly 2 weeks ago... rain Travel)

Thanks for the hints @buggravy

First Bike
Transition Spur Large Seafoam Green AKA Green / Blue depending on...
I went L on the recommendation of Shop... I agreed and I wanted to try Long and Low
SidLuxe for now 120mm
2023 13o Pike Ult with Butter Cups Of Course (makes me laugh just saying it) That +10mm (so HT about 65.5)
XTR All Around except XT Casette (I like the gear ratios/cassette)
Roval Control w/ DT 350 54-star ratchet
Race Face Era
Chris King BB & HS
180 Bike Yoke
One Up Bar
Rekon / Dissector for now
27 Lbs Flat.
ProBike Supply

Ride:
Bought Un-Ridden (first time I did that)
I was/am comfortable on it both Cul-de-Sac rides and Today on the Actual Ride.
My first really new modern Long Reach and Low Bike although BB not that low
but it is Long...A full inch longer wheelbase than the Medium 2016 Bronson, fully kitted... that is long for me.
First Impressions.
It is not the Hardtail ... Not the Broson ... It is definitely in the Middle and completely different from each.... which is what I wanted.
Bike is Fast / Yes We all say that but it felt that way... I am sure my excitement was part of that.. but that is also the general consensus.

It climbed well up Chutes, my fitness holding it back not me.
I am stoked... forgot how nice a 29 Lean Fully can climb...
Good Support!

Descending is where it wanted to go... like it wanted to almost get away... out of the corners or down trail... GO!
Really Liked the twisting turns...
Mix that with not being that familiar with the turns I was overshooting a bit ... :)
I need to get used to the long with the reach i.e. feet are farther back.

Down Chutes... I struggled a bit...
The suspension is a bit firm today... Would rather start that way... I will break it in a bit... Then I will soften it a bit probably... do some twiddling my way :)
It is definitely balanced differently I will need to get used to that for sure .. It Is the whole reach thing, feel being further back when standing.. On the HT When I descend the Steeps I feel my feet are in front of me like braking... this will be a little different / more neutral position.
Down Steep Stair Steepy thing was fine ... Drops/air... I will need to adjust my style a bit... which is expected...
The 3 little (and I mean little) Airs I was unbalanced... no problem we will get that sorted. I did not do the "Big Drop" on the Right Chutes ... no need today

The perspective The Spur is 1 Inch Longer Wheelbase than the Bronson M, but the Reach is 2
Inches Longer, And from Center BB to Front Axle, Spur is nearly 3" Longer Yeah it feels different.

The bike was silent so far YAY, although this was expected, few / no complaints of Squeaky Spurs.

I expect this to become my more every day / every trail rider. I am looking forward to getting to know it better... becoming One!

I rode Oaks, It was Open Not that familiar, but finally had a day .. .and it was beautiful out, no one out there... I stayed out of the Mud (Stay High Young Man)
