New Bike Day!

Humility has gone amok again. Step off the inferiority train and realize people here don’t buy bikes to try to be “core.” Try one of the terrible bikes and riding styles you make a point of slagging and then your opinion of them will become valid. Can’t ride em because of a medical condition? Double STFU. Happy hump day!!!! :)
Oh please. I just like messin' with people who have different tastes. Lighten up Francis! I'm not a hardcore mt biker like all y'all, so I like to rib you about it and poke some good natured fun at myself in the process. Not an "inferiority train" - simple fact. You all ride a lot. I don't.

The cool kids are riding gravel unicycles and e-heelys these days.

Got ya, ya hopeless squishbound bunny hill lapper. Just messin'! :p:D

@buggravy, it looks...like it needs some scratches put on it. Congrats on a new way to fun and fitness.

Fantastic looking rig that has fun written all over it. Doesn't look like you stole too many parts from the Smash.

Thanks! And none at all actually. At the time that I ordered you could only order as a complete bike, so it's new soup to nuts. Only thing I did was take off the Assegai/DHRII in favor of DHF/Aggressor.

So just to plant the seed, should the Sentinel win this shootout the Smash will go up for sale as a complete bike.

Thanks, brother. Depending on the heat this morning, Suicide may be part of this shake down run. That could easily take care of the scratches part.

That is a fine looking bike. It looks like it can handle some serious terrain. How much does it weigh?

It would have been a lot of fun burning through the Assegai/DHRII though ...

Today's terrain was half serious, but indications are that you are correct. I'll weigh it later, but my internal hand scale says about 31 lbs ready to ride.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'm not manly enough to drag that 2.4 DHRII around the places I have to climb, having done it before. I'm Assegai curious, but I wanted to be as apple to apples as I could judging this bike against the Smash. I may try an Assegai/Dissector combo at some point in the future.

Today she became a bike. It’s easy to forget how dialed your old bike is until you start trying to dial in a new one. Shake down run tomorrow.

Very nice bike. I’m looking at this one on PB, comes with the fork. I wanna have a new bike day too.

The Krampus I had over winter solidified my affinity for 29-plus. I thought that I might have to replace it if I moved back near the sand. I still have the gear to build one up.

A used custom ti plus frame with just the right specs showed up for sale; ridiculous price. I fell for it.

Fabbed by Blaze Bikes in Moab, loosely patterned after a Trek Stache but has 65.5 HA/130 fork.

I like sliding dropouts but never needed them on the Krampus. Rack mounts likewise are handy for bikepacking but can be worked around.

OK I guess I drank a couple few too many beers and dropped too many hints and some guys here are on to me. Here's the story. I went to the LBS for quick link and a water bottle mount for someone else and I came home with a bike. @mountaingirl sara busted me on the spot but dang it was good to see her catch up a bit. Never ever thought I'd buy a Specialized but I looked at this thing and it was calling my name. Diverge Evo expert hooligan commuter bike. A gravel bike with MTB’ish geometry, 750mm flat bars, dropper and XT parts hung all over it. I used to use my Les for commuting duties but then I got the bright idea to yank 11 of the gears off of it and determined it was great for everything except commuting. Had more than enough $$ in the paypal account from selling the Ripley AF so it's kinda like a free bike. Rode it early this morning and it's pretty damn fun. I had a drop bar gravel bike for a while and while I loved it's efficiency I always felt like I was gonna die at any moment with those bars and no dropper so this bike cured that issue. Yes I started drinking beer early and my flame suit is on so fire away...

Huh. OK. Cool!

I have a Speshy something something I use for riding down to the beach, so I won't give you Sh!t for buying a Specialized as your special-purpose bike. I will still give @Danimal a hard time for getting a Specialized as his only mt bike - if I ever see him again.

Haha... yeah you can give me Sh!t as I probably deserve it, and it's not my only bike. I also have a speshy road bike! So a two-fer. Just kind of happened...but I'm cool with it ( or is it denial o_O:cool: )
