New Bike Day!

I ordered this frame more than 4 months ago and am jazzed to have a soft tail bike. The frame arrived at the end of November. I provided the Nobl TR 32 wheels with Onyx hubs, Pike fork, pedals, handlebar and seat. Adrenaline Bikeshop provided the rest- drivetrain, seatpost and assembly. It's a size large with a custom curved top tube. I finally rode it for the first time yesterday up Black Star. Like Moots claims all the small road chatter is gone.

In this day of long/low/slack......seeing a short travel Pike on a steep HTA just looks odd.

Should be a fun rig to ride.

We've evolved to the point that 68 degrees is steep. :Roflmao If you overfork it, aren't the numbers similar to the Chameleon? Although at 444 millimeters, the chain stays are 14 mm longer than the longest setting on the lizard. o_O That bike has a nice stable rear end...

The frameset was supposed to come with the 120mm - 51mm offset Pike Ultimate RCT3. I got a call saying Pike's were backordered until January but I could have the Fox 34 Fit 4 or Grip 2 or the Stepcast version. I said no. Stepcast Fox forks are supposed to be twitchy and I am not racing. I had the Pike in my hands in 2 days from Amazon with Charge 2.1 damper. I ordered the RCT3 damper based off the serial # of the fork from Jenson and installed it last Thursday before I rode the bike for the first time.

@Stkx66 both @Grego and I put on Works angle headsets on our Ti HTs to slacken a bit ... Amazing... 2.0 made a huge difference... Just crushed mine down rattlesnake and on the flowey STs it just flies now.. solid as a rock and stable. They make 1.0 , 1.5 and 2.0

I was just about to report back that I am so happy with the choice I made with that on the Raijin

Not my bike, but a new bike for my Mom.

She was 11 ('47) and her brother who was still in the army, sent her a letter saying the bike belonged to her now. I'd say Mom's smile said it all. Sorry no details on the bike, pedals, tires or weight.

Good to hear your angleset is still solid. Mine has been creak free still. Funny my old Cane Creek 40 would creak.

So, I guess this is new old bike day. I sold my DV9 frame to @Mikie earlier this year and went another direction for a hardtail. Ended up selling that frame and wanted to go back to a DV9. The only problem was that they were sold out everywhere and Ibis said there would be no more until 2022. I e-mailed them and asked if they had a way to see if any of their dealers had a black size large frame and they replied that they don’t have visibility to dealer inventory, but they gave me a short list of dealers to reach out to. Luckily, the first shop that I called said they had one in stock and said they’d ship it to me for a good price so I grabbed it. Just finished the build today. Hope to get her dusty tomorrow.

Awesome, sometimes what’s old is new. Great looking bike. Too bad @Mikie hasn’t gotten any use out of the frame he got from you...:Roflmao

Good looking bike... I really like the fork graphics complimenting it so well!

Guess Ti isn't for everyone?

Stick with what you know, what you like.

Nice ride.

Nice score! I wish my thorasic spine and neck had been able to figure out how to get along with mine. It's such a fun little rocket.
