New Bike Day!

I had not seen the updated 5010. Yikes, kind of ugly and bulky looking.
It's the same as all of the other Santa Cruzes now. The lower linkage of the new VPP is a much more effective design than their previous VPP designs - better climbing, more plush, etc etc. I actually think they did a great job of the visual design of the linkage on the SOLO er I mean 5010. But the pleasing straight, continuous line of the Transition Spur from stem to rear axle is a stark comparison to the separated rear triangle (2 distinctly different triangles) look of the Santa Cruz.

That 5010 could visually pass as an Ebike, perhaps not unintentionally. @scan, did you ride Marshall today? I thought I saw an orange/black Scott Spark on the back of a maroon Prius driving south on White St. past the Post Office.

Rode bonelli 2pm. Went by Crazy bear at the end of the ride to see where it was located. The guy there , not sure if it was the owner (longish hair, looked a little younger). I asked him how long it would take to bleed brakes, he said "15 mins right now if you want". Had to get going so had to pass.

I assume it was you I saw driving down White at around 1:45pm. Cool to see another Hooligan out and about. I was on skates with my youngest and dropping off a package.

Right @evdog? Usually I’m willing to wait up to 20 minutes, but anything longer than that is unacceptable, especially when the shop has a couch and is next to a pesky brewery.

CrazyBear takes alotta guts starting a new business right now. His business partner Gerard may have been the guy @scan met.

I ordered this frame more than 4 months ago and am jazzed to have a soft tail bike. The frame arrived at the end of November. I provided the Nobl TR 32 wheels with Onyx hubs, Pike fork, pedals, handlebar and seat. Adrenaline Bikeshop provided the rest- drivetrain, seatpost and assembly. It's a size large with a custom curved top tube. I finally rode it for the first time yesterday up Black Star. Like Moots claims all the small road chatter is gone.

Love the Onyx Vesper Hubs! Totally silent. This is my 4th set actually. The engagement is like stepping on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich- slight give but no more. It locks up and drives the bike. Why silent hubs in the first place? I've had and still have a life time of listening to loud machinery and air hoses so when I'm out riding the quieter the better.

Niiiiice... they seem amazing! If I ever move away from 350 hubs, it would be to those.

Emily Batty doesn’t get to play with it anymore.
