New Bike Day!

Yay! Are those 2.6” wide tires?
I see you bought your Toyota from the same place I bought mine. Where are you located? The neighborhood landscaping suggests somewhere in the Southwest and not the grassy California landscaping we have been conditioned to expect around here. If you are local, wanna do a few night rides!? I’d ride my Trek too, and we could be friends!
Yes, 2.6. I used to ride Marshall Canyon all the time...20 years ago lol. Might take you up on a night ride...one of these days...thanks for the invite!

I'd consider a heat shield before you do any long drives and find the exhaust has melted your tire. A few riders I know have had that happen
Oh my! Pretty!
Welcome to the Black and Blue Crew!
I think it was mentioned... be careful on car exhaust heat. Make sure it does not cook your tire and rim. There are stories.... :whistling:

Looking for pics and pics of smiles forthcoming!
Thanks for the info on the heat shield...never heard of that or even thought about it! Where would I get something like that?

We need a picture of the old steed next to the new one. That's a nice upgrade...
Thanks...here ya go....

Congrats @Geetarguy! Purty! Can't wait to read a ride report - but make sure to take a picture of your smile!

And my god, @DangerDirtyD is certainly obsessed with tire widths!
Just got back from a quick ride! This thing is outrageous! The technology has gotten soooooo much better in the last 20 years! This is also my first time on flat pedals since BMX days and I'm really liking them...may stick with flats! Just gonna ride this thing like it is for a while before I do anything else...maybe a handlebar upgrade later (renthals???). And yes, ditched the reflectors.....kept the dork disk for this ride to make sure it shifted right...it did! Yeah, so far really digging this thing. I'll post more as I take it out on longer and more interesting rides. My 19-year-old son rode with me on my old bike....kinda feel bad for him...not...lol! Thanks, everyone for the cool comments!

I can smell the stoke in that post!!!  :)

I’m a pretty reserved person. I never like to admit how much i spend on my bikes. I almost feel guilty throwing that much into a bike but Since i brought this up in another thread I’ll give it a go.

had the opportunity to get a new bike after i sold the DH bike. 2008 intense socom. I have a 2017 intense 275 tracer carbon now and passed that along to the boy and got a 2021 tracer. And as you know i sold his old bike to my friend for a whopping $200 to get her son a good starter bike. (Another thread)

so after parting the socom i built the new bike up.
Kept the forks, brakes, bars and stem from the socom. Everything else is new. The tracer in my book is everything an enduro is supposed to be. Takes big hits yet supple over the small stuff. ( i did replace the om shock with a fox dh x2 ). Anyways here she is...behold.

Yeah Booooiiii! What a beast!
The Tracer is a great do everything bike, for those who live for the downs! Love the Hope brakes, King hubs and Shimano DX (M647) pedals. This is a man who knows his Sh!t!

And with the screen name Uzziboy, this bike will clearly surpass any Uzzi ever built, while staying true to the Uzzi's intent.

You miiiiight wanna take a hacksaw to your steer tube though.

When i build a bike. It’s going to be around for a while. I have no other hobby to waste money on (maybe tool buying lol) so the bike has the best parts i can afford. I will tell you i also build all of my bikes myself besides headset/bottom bracket installation and wheel building (which I’m learning on my own). That being said the forks are 8 years old and still amazing because i service them all the time. Also the brakes are at least 10 years old and i completely overhauled them. Work incredibly well. Some new some old. But a beast no less.

lol this is the 7th intense frame. Kept the name from when Uzzi’s ruled the roost for them.

I’m old school about the forks. Eventually I’ll sell them so didn’t want to cut it down.

I had the 2018 model which was my favorite bike going DH when things got serious....which I also passed on to my son so that I could get the new Ripmo at the time...which I sold to get the new HD5. Have fun with that thing.

A box just showed up, so it’s officially new bike quarter. Meaning I have months to build it before I’m at the location it was bought for. Plus some parts wrangling.

A Revel Ranger if you missed that. Hey, did you see Push’s Ranger on IG with a coil shock? 115mm travel with coil?? Hmmm...
