Point made!!Where would you put a front derailleur on this?
Congrats! Must have run out of money before you got to the derailleur and cassette.

Your assimilation is nearly complete.
Some of you might have seen the for sale listing for my DV9 frame. Well, it’s on its way to @Mikie in Canada. Below is what replaced it. I found a great deal on a titanium Timberjack frame on EBay. Never owned titanium and always wanted one so it was to be. Got it mostly built up this afternoon, but I didn’t have a rear 160mm SIS adapter. That shows up tomorrow so I should be able to get it rolling then.

A couple of minutes with a Dremel and you can remove the hanger and make it proper.
Well, not going to take a Dremel to it, but it is starting it’s life out sans derailleur.

OK - here we go. Hardtails (and singlespeeds) have returned as the must-have for IMTBers.
Still not interested. If I were relegated to a hardtail, I would quit riding. Perhaps that's why you are so insistent! Is that not what I have been trying to tell you?

Love it - Congrats! We're excited to hear about your first ride!My first real ever mountain bike ever. Salsa Timberjack 29er. Not sure if the Huffy I had in 1998 counts haha. Promise it won't be hanging around like this in my parking lot. Waiting on my gear so I could hit up this nice beginner trail near my house (Cherry Canyon in Glendale). Beyond excited - thanks to all you who helped me during this beginner phase. Let's go!
