Music... I Listened to Some

OK - did you know about them when I talked to you about them last week, while we were listening to endless Dropkick Murphys? I mentioned they were a Tim Armstrong project that reminded me of the better Rancid stuff.

LOVE this Sh!t!!!
@herzalot Did you ever listen to Operation Ivy? I used to go to their gigs as a kid in Bay Area. They were kids too and had a lot of talent.

Yup. Op Ivy was the predecessor to Rancid. The Interruptors could be seen as the successors. A more sophisticated sound than Op Ivy for sure, if you can call ska punk sophisticated.

Matt Freeman is a very talented bassist by the way. Something you don't necessarily see in this genre.

@herzalot Nice! Thanks for the history and band connections.

My parents downsized their house a couple of years back and told me to go over some of my belongings. It was take it or trash it.
I remembered I had this flyer and vinyl I took with me.

Great song, thanks! Seems like he has unlimited material based on being disgusted w/the music industry. Really tight band. I totally dug it. I saw Van back in the early 70s w/ Marshall Tucker at the Santa Monica Civic. He was great but he spent the entire gig w/ his back to the crowd. Looks like now he has adapted to just keeping his eyes closed. I can relate but I don't know who has a worse case of social anxiety, him or me. At least I can hide now.

Coffee? No thanks, just poured a righteous cup of Motörhead.

I'm living on an endless road
Around the world for rock and roll
Sometimes it feels so tough
But I still ain't had enough
I keep saying that it's getting too much
But I know I'm a liar
Feeling all right in the noise and the light
But that's what lights my fire

Hellraiser, in the thunder and heat
Hellraiser, knock you back in your seat
Hellraiser, and I'll make it come true
Hellraiser, I'll put a spell on you

Walking out on another stage
Another town, another place
Sometimes I don't feel right
Nerves wound up too damn tight
Don't you tell me it's bad for my health
But kicking back don't make it
Out of control, I play the ultimate role
Don't know how to make it

Hellraiser, in the thunder and heat
Hellraiser, rock you back in your seat
Hellraiser, and I'll make it come true
Hellraiser, I'll put a spell on you

Op Ivy and Econochrist, NICE!
That 7" is probably worth a few sheckles now.
I had no idea how collectible vintage early releases by punk bands that were on small labels have become!
From my early punk days, I still have early 2 Minor Threat albums and Black Flag EP and was shocked to find out what they're valued at on the collector's market - they range from $350 to $850 (per Discogs.com site).
Unfortunately I threw away all my 7" singles when I moved to OC, which included the very first Minor Threat 7" that is now valued at $500 to $1500 - yikes :(

@senderos_949 Thanks for the link!
It'll give me incentive to look through the milkcrate of vinyl to sort out and see what I got.
Then back in the milkcrate it goes for the next 30 years!

This song takes me back to a time in my youth and it brings peace to my soul with it's mesmerizing guitar work and the dreamy vocals of Mr. Plant.

We finally agree 100% on something!!!! Love that Srat sound on that song! And it's harder to play than I thought it would be, but I'm not much of guitarist, so...
