Music... I Listened to Some

As it is for many people, my paying work is impeded by the current situation. I'm thankful for all blessings, and also sympathetic to anyone feeling the pinch.

Music is one thing that helps us pull through tough times. In that spirit I woke up this AM with time on my hands, made the weez breakfast, adjusted my attitude and some hours later spit this out of my lappy: Take it from me

Fun to hear your stuff. Some nice pre-bends in there. Do you play actual drums or are those really good sounding synthetics?

Thanks, Chris!

The drums are all downloadable in GarageBand, and they are pitifully easy to use. This "drummer" is "Ian," with some nice Oasis-inpired sounds. I guess that's classic rock now.

I hope nobody is deluded into thinking I know WTF I'm doing. I don't! I revved up GarageBand a few months ago to burn some time over winter. But it's fun and at least one of my buds is gearing up for file sharing. Those are one-take electric leads on the song I linked, so if it sounds crappy, you are hearing it correctly. :D

I liked that, Mike. Gave me a bit of an Alice In Chains/Jar Of Flies vibe. Was that the 12 string that you generously offered me? If so, I'm glad I passed, as you're putting it to much better use than I likely would have.

Kind words, Matt. :notworthy: The 12-string is prolly destined to be a campfire guitar; I'd be leery of investing anything (mic'ing/pickups) in it due to the time-bomb bridge. (Read: Still wouldn't be missed if loaned out.:geek:)

Having gone so long without bread and butter (a 6-string acoustic), I'm vitually rediscovering the instrument; blown away by the playability of a modern, inexpensive guitar. My axe bro Bryan talked me down from blowing a wad on an acoustic, and it was 100% the right move. Martin D-10e is what I ended up with. Built-in tuner/pickups and beautiful soft case for under a grand. I'd be hard pressed to say a buddy's D-35 plays or sounds better. It's good to be a hobbyist with no obligations, though.:cool:

Five thumbs up

Good sh!t, @mike! Love you are doing this still. I've been playing the bass since I was 14 and have to see if I can dig up some recordings from my HS and college bands to share with you guys. HS was mostly metal stuff, college some originals and some covers like Jimi, America, Floyd, etc. BTW, that Scorps "Holiday" is so good. Saw them open for Motley Crue. They are a great live band! The Crue who are one of my favorites... well, not as good live. Vince is so awful.

This afternoon's theme song:

4 weeks no paper goods, got the paper towels from Costco this morning. Can't get no TP.
But we can get our favorite flavor, Cherry Red.

Tonight sheltering in place with mozzarella chicken tortellini pasta with a spicy arrabiata sauce and my favorite flavor... thanks to Linne Calodo for still shipping out the nectar.

Costco is a no-go for the TP. Try the local liquor store. You might be surprised.
