Music... I Listened to Some

Whoa!!! You a ThreeoneG man?
Or just an all around late 90's/early aughts HC dude?
Probably the latter, that would be about the time I started exploring deeper than the typical epitaph skate punk and getting into hardcore...

Mostly late 70's early 80's , and from there on outward.... I guess following the circle of influence as the whole genre expanded...

I love blast beats.
And bands that play as fast as humanly possible knocking you over with a wall of noise distortion and feedback!

Introducing my girls and neighbors (by default ) to one of my favorites! Love me some Zeppelin!

No work, no ride, make sound inside...

Right Back Home

I typed the lyrics last week in an hour. A couple days ago I found a GarageBand drum sound I thought would work; last night noodled the riff and thought about how it might come together. Today I put it together with my electric-acoustic 6-string, electric 6-string, bass guitar and GarageBand. The background vocal that sounds like a female is mine in falsetto.

As a drummer, I don't even know how to process this. 2:35 is crazy town.

For the drummers out there. For background I'm more into Jazz/rock music.
This recording was the first time I heard of this drummer Steve Gadd. I was completely blown away(1977). He literally changed the drumming world by his style, taste, originality and more importantly FEEL of a song. If you're a drummer you may have already heard of him.
If you advance to 6:45 on the video you'll get a taste of the greatness of his playing. He reportedly did this in one take!!! This song is relatively "soft" , however the dynamics of his playing is amazing!!
Enjoy (crank it up), and drummers.....comments?

(also check out 4:35, and what he does with his sticks at 4:56, then the flurry after this.)

Not allowed to play this record at home. My wife nearly goes into seizures when I put heavier music on but this is def. one of my favorite HC albums of all time. I'm bummed I went to UCSC a few years after their tenure there ( I know they played several shows on campus) but I did get to see the reunion show at the Smell in 2008.

Steve Gadd - 50 ways to leave your lover. Horrible song - cool drum beat. Unless that was Russ Kunkle. If only there were a way to find out.
