Music... I Listened to Some

What a righteously fun time!!!!!!!! Loaded with fine specimens to boot. TFPTSU :thumbsup:

All lefty axemen, and frontman wears a lady-bottoning blazer...what does it mean? :geek:
Righteously fun is right! Life's to short not to dance. Or ride. Or..

This one's resonated with me recently, maybe because I think it's important to live fully wherever you are. When 'round here' stops giving me a buzz, I'll find a new 'here.'

Nice, Jim. That fine song hit me, too. My lassie left me for work elsewhere, my kitty remains only in my heart and mind, I can't ride my bike and I got the f@cking flu. So, round here buzz it is...without the buzz, tho.

One nice thing about popular music is it's often easy to play. I had to...

Excerpt with questionable tuning, vocal range and lyrics.

In a few weeks heading down to Solano beach with the Mrs. to see Dead Mans Party. I’ve heard really good things and am excited for a fun night of Boingo songs.

I also have my flight, room and concert tickets for Punk Rock Bowling festival in Vegas. Three days of PBR and moshing.
I looked them up, and see they're playing in Riverside on the 17th of March along w/ Brixton '76... a Clash tribute band.
That could be fun, but it's the Holy Strada Rossa Day, which is kinda' busy religious holiday for me...

We've seen DMP (she's a huge Boingo fan) they are very good. Seeing Elfman play Dead Mans Party at the Holly wood bowl a few months back was cool.

There are a number of Coachella bands playing small shows around SoCal in April. Going to see First Aid Kit in Santa Ana.

Sobriety...I had some. Trying to remember the last time. I'd say 1979. Not boozing is as much fun as boozing if you ask me...

Also forgot how good the By Numbers LP (1975) is. Every track masterful. Last of the Keith Moon and Ox thunder. Nicky Hopkins' on piano.

Where do you walk on sunny times
When the rivers gleam and the buildings shine
How do you feel when the pollen falls
And the summer clothes brighten gloomy halls

And they're all in love

Where do you fit in zip magazine
Where the past is the hero and the present a queen
Just tell me right now where do you fit in
With blood in your eye and a passion for gin

And they're all in love

Hey, goodbye all you punks
Stay young and stay high
Hand me my checkbook
And I'll crawl off to die
But like a woman in childbirth
Grown ugly in a flash
I've seen magic and fame
Now I'm recycling trash

And they're all in love

Way, way underrated '81 hard rock record from these NY state boys. RIP Mark Reale.

Better than caffeeen for my money. Sorry, Faustie!

Some pretty funny lyrics, too.

You took my money, baby, you steal my cigarettes.
First chance I get, I'll be up and jet, I'm gone.
You beat me up, you threw me out,
You killed my dog and cat.
The "Ken-L-Ration" is yours,
I want the "Friskies" back.
Ooooh, don't bring me down.
Ooooh, don't bring me down.

You took my car, for just one night,
Out to cruise the scene, that's what you told me.
Now the engine's gone, the tailpipe's bent,
My 8-Track's playin', Spring-st-st-steen.
You call me a wimp, you say I'm a chump,
Well your face is bent,
And you smell like gorilla dump.
Ooooh, don't bring me down.
Ooooh, don't bring me down.

Hear what I said, hear what I said now?
Ooooh, don't, don't, don't,
Ooooh, don't bring me down...

Spring-st-st-steen...LOL!!!!!

Fire Down Under def a great album!

Lost interest starting with Restless Breed with a different singer.
Right on. I heard just a cut or two without Guy on vocals...downgrade for sure.

I’ve never heard mention of another Riot LP that represents the pinnacle of the band more than Fire Down Under. Every track...still got the vinyl.

Cheers, siata. Sounds like we have a lot of overlap... you must be old too

45 years after first hearing this, I appreciate it more than ever. What a time it was.

Long ago I wandered thru my mind
In the land of fairy tales and stories
Lost in happiness I knew no fears
Innocence and love was all I knew
It was an illusion

Soon the days were passing into years
Happiness just didn’t come so easy
Life was more than fairy tales and daydreams
Innocence was just another word
It was an illusion

Lost in the wheels of confusion
Running thru valleys of tears
Eyes full of angry delusion
Hiding in everyday fears

So I found that life is just a game
But you know there’s never been a winner
Try your hardest, you’ll still be a loser
The world will still be turning when you’re gone
Yeah, when you’re gone
