Canfield? Such an obscure reference!!!

BTW, I'm most likely buying a Revel Rail as my next bike. Just sayin' (See if you can connect the dots here. It's not hard.)

And yes @scottay - how are you doing?

@evdog @herzalot One of the guys in our group has the Revel Rail and I rode it down Insidious out at Greer Ranch. I was only going about 70% because I didn't want to crash his new bike but it was absolutely the plushest, most stable suspension platform I've ridden going down thru serious chunk. I didn't do any climbing with it but he loves the bike and rides it about 2/3rd's of the time (including all week in Oregon where we climbed 16K feet) on our rides as he also has an Intense Primer and Trek Farley. He has his rail built at about 28.5 lbs. Their quality workmanship is beautiful as well. I'm hoping they come out with a shorter travel 27.5" bike myself.

What's wrong with their 29er? Seriously though, if the Rail can be built down to 28-29lbs and pedals as well as people say it pedals not sure why would you need a shorter travel version? I'm actually more interested in the Rascal 29er personally. A girl I met on the AZTR was riding one in my size, and had bikepacking bags fitted for it, so I know that can be done (very few small size full suspension bikes can run a seat bag, and ever fewer 29ers). And she laid down a new record for womens time of around 9.5 days, so I know it doesn't suck to pedal.

I have (2) 29ers including a Primer that I'm EXTREMELY happy with. I like riding 27.5 bikes in places like Sedona, Hurricane, Cortez. I've also never ridden a 29er in Moab but will have to in a couple weeks, probably opting for the Ripmo.

It threw a rod... no warning. Fortunately it was close to home and I made it off the toll road. Warranty engine on the way.
Wow, that's shocking. Sorry to hear that. Glad that you are being taken care of properly.

My wife's Civic's engine block cracked a year or so ago and Honda threw in a brand new engine to keep us happy. They even supplied a rental car for the time needed to get the job done.

I have a loaner that I happily took on a 1,000 mile road trip... But it's easier to haul bikes in the Volkswagen, so I've been driving that around town.

So, Mikie, what is the latest? Are you on your way back?
Yeah I guess I got to fill in the blanks...
Obviously, we’re home. Crappy day off to recover by burying my best pooch ever.

Malad is a very small town, 2 to 3,000 people. Sunday’s, everything was closed accept a gas station and tiny sand which stand.

The tow truck guy, Marv, works in his dads shop. Without even looking at the truck when it was pouring rain, he said he guaranteed it was a blown water pump that shredded the serpentine belt. Would have it fixed and we would be on the road by noon on Monday. Showed me the pump and it was trashed. Said to call him at 11:30 to check in.
We were on the road by 11:55 am. :gotnothing:

Drove straight through to home only stopping for fuel and In N Out in Las Vegas. Got home at exactly 12:00 midnight.

Going to work on Wednesday and Thursday, then flying out to New Town. Roth Dakota on Saturday for work. Be back on Tuesday eve. Then Driving up to Oakhurst next Thursday night to cut the annual 3 chords of oak firewood.

Oh! And my Hightower divorced me stating I don’t pay her enough attention. :(

Bike riding is not on the menu for a while. Starting over.....again.
