Montana & Idaho

BTW, I'll say it again: One location good enough to invest life savings does not exist. Every good place will suck part of the year. (By sucking, I mean making you drive somewhere else for recreation.) That's when you go to your other place(s). Yep, gotta have more than one place. Plus, who wants to bed down in one place forever – to me that sounds excruciatingly boring. The more I move around, and the older I get, the less I want to stay in one place. Way too much to see in this country to consider becoming stagnant. To each his own, I rekkin, but I'd rather have two run-down shanties in awesome locations than one palace anywhere.
Oh I hear you. You have mentioned that before, and I couldn’t agree more. We are looking to establish the Northern venue. Down the road we may plan an Arizona pad as well.

Yeah I guess I got to fill in the blanks...
Obviously, we’re home. Crappy day off to recover by burying my best pooch ever.

Malad is a very small town, 2 to 3,000 people. Sunday’s, everything was closed accept a gas station and tiny sand which stand.

The tow truck guy, Marv, works in his dads shop. Without even looking at the truck when it was pouring rain, he said he guaranteed it was a blown water pump that shredded the serpentine belt. Would have it fixed and we would be on the road by noon on Monday. Showed me the pump and it was trashed. Said to call him at 11:30 to check in.
We were on the road by 11:55 am. :gotnothing:

Drove straight through to home only stopping for fuel and In N Out in Las Vegas. Got home at exactly 12:00 midnight.

Going to work on Wednesday and Thursday, then flying out to New Town. Roth Dakota on Saturday for work. Be back on Tuesday eve. Then Driving up to Oakhurst next Thursday night to cut the annual 3 chords of oak firewood.

Oh! And my Hightower divorced me stating I don’t pay her enough attention. :(

Bike riding is not on the menu for a while. Starting over.....again.
Well :thumbsup: for the safe trip home.
:thumbsdown: for having to bury your pup.
I’m not sure how many thumbs down to give no riding and travel for work.
Hang in there my friend. You have lots of friends pulling for you. Some even might put in a good word for you with the man upstairs :)

Canfield Brothers Racing? Crampon pedals? Nimble9, YellyScreamy, Riot, Toir?

Bummer on the truck, but at least it was ready fairly quickly and not too big a deal.
And I'm kinda in the same work boat as you. Looks like more traveling is coming up on a regular basis for me too. Already have a week on two different occasions planned, and multiple short 1-3 day hops on planes.
And my vacation to Italy is interrupted with my last day here going to meet the owner of the company I work for. Should be pretty darn cool, but instead of a day at a seaside resort I'll be at a industrial yard in Carrara working..wife's being a trooper about it though as she's tagging along.
But hey, do what we gotta do, I don't have the 2 home option. ...:cautious::)

If you and your wife travel a lot, you don’t have a real need for two places IMO.

If you have to work, a telecommuting gig is ideal. The guy I work for has an office, but we almost never went there when I was local. He moved his office a couple of years ago. I still haven’t seen it. This way of working is not available to many jobs and industries, but for quality of life, it’s the shite.
