Little Diddy About Mikie and Bikie

The Fibula is an easy fix....plates and a few screws. I can feel the screws through my skin, but after almost 14 years, it hasn't been an issue.

I had a similar but bigger break on the Tibia. Again, no issues with the hardware. I do not feel the screw on the bottom of the Tibia. I have smacked it on the the crank arm hundreds of times.....tender yes, issue...not really. No issues with the tendons or soft tissue. My complications/life altering issue has more to do with mine being dislocated and riding out on it for so many miles, that I damaged the cartlidge at the bottom of the bone. It only affects me when I do hikes on off camber trails, but I have recently discovered that sturdy hiking boots limit that issue.

Never went to flat pedals. As soon as I was cleared to ride, straight back to clipping in. Yes, it took a while to get comfortable, but I had a harder mental block on the panic foot down than actually unclipping. You'll be fine

Hey J…
This was REALLY really helpful and encouraging. Thanks for taking the time to post this up.

Update for yah…
Ouch?
Surgery was yesterday around 4:30 pm.
Was slated for 109 minutes and it took less than an hour. I didn’t talk to the surgeon afterwards but he did talk with CJ. Said it went great!
In pre-op they did a nerve block on my left leg below the knee. I needed a nerve block from the nerve block! OUCH! Two shots directly into the nerve!

There were about 5 people plus CJ in the pre-op room and I asked if I could pray and they said yes. CJ shared with me it was a solid prayer. I said good, because I don’t remember doing that.

Next thing I know, I’m talking to the recovery room nurse and we are talking about mountain biking. Her whole family rides and we were talking about our favorite trails here and across the United States. Slowly, I began to realize we were talking about mountain biking as I gained more consciousness! ;):Roflmao

It was at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. Man! Everything went like clockwork.

Today was interesting. I had never had a “Blocker” before.
CJ and I could have played Darts using my foot for the dart board and I would have not had a clue. The leg was there, but by sight alone. They said it would wear off in 12 to 16 hours. At 1:00pm I finally got in contact with my doctors office concerned that I had zero feeling in my leg. She said count myself lucky that I was the last surgery of the day and to stay on top of my pain pills because the pain is coming.

Well? It’s here. Just finished watching the latest Tom Cruise flick and my leg be on fire.
Fibula feels like a blow torch! Lol!

Next pain pill is 1:00am my time.
Everyone have safe travels tomorrow if you have to travel.
Happy Thanksgiving you Hooligan Turkeys!

Mikie

Do you need any more stool softener?

So how's it going @Mikie ?
Well?
I have full on cabin fever. Thank goodness for technology otherwise, I would go completely mad.
Stream a ton of movies and….. I got totally addicted to Mech Arena.

Here is my current Hangar of Robots for battle:
The little girl in the middle (Redeemer), is my ringer, she goes in, in the heat of the battle and cleans house.

Sorry, this is 100,000X worse than riding an e-bike and no, your current "stuck on the couch" situation doesn't make it any better. Good luck getting to #421.
