Little Diddy About Mikie and Bikie

ARKANSAS:

I've been watching high speed police pursuit videos on YT. It seems that the majority of them are from Arkansas and what shakes my soul is the speed at which the law enforcement in that state will perform a PIT maneuver. Just WOW?! o_O

Arkansas IS NOT a good state to flee from the police in.:laugh:

Mikie, any input on the subject?
Well…
They haven’t caught me, yet. :gotnothing:

A familiar scenario…

If you have been around for any length time on imtbtrails, a pic of this nature would be no surprise.

I had my outpatient Arthro yesterday around 3:30pm.

Doc called us as CJ and I were on the road home and he stated it went exceptionally well. Removed scar tissue that was interfering with the Patella.

It’s 8:30 the next morning and I have been anticipating the “after the drugs wear off” fallout, and it just is not there! That’s dangerous for a guy like me.

Does anyone want to go for a bike ride this afternoon, and oh… I have some Oxycodone for sale…

Thats great news Mikie!

Dang, I never saw this thread. I was kinda busy at the time with my daughter's wedding.

Mikie, here's to you and your knees and your tib/fib being the last of the titanium upgrades.
Thanks Duke!
This Doctor said that the knees they put in are prone to scar tissue interfering with the patella. They’re not that old but the doc made it sound like they are old school. Interesting.

What I find interesting is I didn’t have this “Patella Klunk” until after this last fumble on the bike. Quite the coincidence.

And, to be fair. I have treated my riding like I never got the replacements. I’m tough on my body as much as I am on my bikes. But I think I’m figuring out that I’m running out of youth and damaged goods is no longer a badge of glory. ;)

All good Brothah!

I got clearance from my surgeon to resume cycling yesterday!

We talked about the surgery and I shared how I struggled with the designated recovery time as I felt pretty much normal starting the day after. Sure a little tender but nothing to lay around for two weeks and get fat over!

He was very pleased with the procedure and the results. Showed me four pics he took while inside the knee. They are hard to really understand, but here goes…

Upper Left: Massive scar tissue.
Doc said that for whatever reason, my version of knee replacements have had a tendency to develop scar tissue that interferes with the puck they attach to the back of my Patella (knee cap). As I straighten my leg the puck gets caught up on the scar tissue then jumps up on top of it as the leg continues to straighten. Prior to surgery, I could visually see the knee cap resist normal motion because of the scar tissue then jump back into place as it passes over the scar tissue. It didn’t hurt but it was disturbing, distracting, and mentally held me back while cycling.

Lower Left: Removing the Scar Tissue (ST).
Snip, snip, snip, removing the evil ST and dragging it out one incision while watching with a camera from the other incision. The white stuff is the lower plate that the upper leg rests on. Crazy huh?

Upper Right: Side view of that Puck.
This is the puck that is attached to the back of my knee cap. The ST would catch that upper edge, but now the ST is gone there.

Lower Right: All Clear… All Better!
I mean, so he says… Hard to tell the view but it clearly indicates all the scar tissue is removed. Doc says it’s the same view as Upper Left but with all the scar tissue removed.

All I know is that the knee is back to cycle ready and I’m hitting the trails in Fayetteville with Fadi tomorrow morning!

Mikie likey and now go Bikey!
