Life...Behind Bars

Quick pic of today's ride in my backyard. The "Sawpit to Van Tassel Loop". I'm so fortunate to be able to do this ride from my house ;) The hills in the distance (past the smog) are the Hacienda Hills, Rose Hills and beyond that, Turnbull in Whittier.

Yes, it's Tahoe looking down towards Kings Beach from the Flume Trail. Very fun trail that you can loop or shuttle from Flume Trail Rides.
If you loop, it's 19.5 miles and 3100 feet of elevation or the shuttle offers two options. We intended on doing the shuttle but Cal Trans had the road closed.
We talked with a local who suggested the loop in a counterclockwise direction which IMO was the better route. That way you descend the switchbacks on Tahoe Rim Trail instead of climb them. :D

Is that the trail off of Sullivan? If so, I saw it when I was doing a loop to Backbone. It looked fun, fast and slippery.

You went all the way to the top and looking at Ozena Valley. That makes it a good ride.
