Look at that azz! 8-)

Hey! I mean my butt not all of me! :?

Man! That pic makes the mountains we are heading to in the distance look like a million miles away! Oh! Hey, er... yes, they are a million miles away, that's right.
Our elevation was soooo high you can see the curvature of the earth.
Of course your arms look like they are a million miles away from your bars. Those are looong arms! :P

Thank you, ah, thank you very much. I'll be here all week doing shows at, 9:00 10:30, 12:00, and 2:00...

Mammoth rock trail looking down at our Condo. I was going to do a little RR but just haven't had the time yet. Damn I'm having serious post-holiday weekend depression at work right now... sigh.

Life after Life...Behind Bars. They have it rough in the OC!

Life..Behind Bars in the SCV after the rare rain.

Looks like the area around Fowler's is getting some attention here lately. I haven't ridden that area for a while. I heard that our local 'maintainer-of-the -trails' has been busy on the pig farm singletrack trail lately. Might be nice to ride it for a change of pace.

Does it count if it's Bars...Behind Life. From the woods of the Memphis TN area.

AKAKTM, life behind bars indeed ;~) Looks like you have a fair sized collection of different 'bars' (as in 'handlebars'). Curious on your thoughts on which ones you prefer, and why?

Some of those bars are rental bars and others are bikes I've sold, but I have had many brands. I've had bikes from Cannondale, Santa Cruz, Niner, Specialized, Ibis (several), On One, Giant, Ellsworth and several others---not including a long line of KTMs. As for Mountain bikes, I just sold my very favorite of all times--an Ibis Ripley and I'm riding a new HD3. Though I really like the HD3, the Ripley is a near perfect fit for my riding style and capabilities. The HD3, while beautiful is too much bike for at least 90% of what I do and even in the 10% cases, I am becoming more cautious--it's a seriously capable bike that climbs wonderfully.

The Ripley has much of the capability of the HD3, but with the forgiving 29 wheels, more snappy geometry and even greater efficiency. The Ripley climbs about as well as a FS bike can climb, is very fast and I was still able to run the rocky black diamond runs at Mammoth way faster than I should on it. Mine was built with semi-wide carbon rims and a Pike 130mm. I am REALLY hoping Ibis will introduce a revised/updated Ripley this summer. I'll be first in line for one.

As for motorcycles, I love the KTM 350EXC. Mine is a 500EXC and it's a bit too much.

Here is what I headed into today riding at Chantry Flats. It felt like I was in a Brothers Grimm fairy tale.

I was expecting the clouds to burn off by 2pm, but this is how it looked at the trailhead (sorry no bars, this is life behind a dashboard):

This is up on the side of Charlie Canyon part of the way down a trail aptly named Skid Marks. Drops around 500' in what has to be less than a mile. Rode it yesterday for the first time on my 29er hardtail, which was OK, but I dusted off the Stumpjumper 29 today and was much more in control. The prototype front tire I have on the Stumpy was such a blessing. This thing is PLUMP, and has traction/grip for days. It BARELY fits under the fork arch. Too fat to fit the rear of the Stumpy :o

Nice Danmtchl!
I know that spot and have only rode that on my Proflex. Time to get the Yeti out there... ;)

That was the start of my ride this morning. Need to text about Friday, it is a maybe with my buddy. But we can do something.

Wow - that looks great. I rode the Rainbow Trail in Salida in 1993 or so, and it definitely didn't look like that. No berms or flow back then. It was still a beautiful trail, but not bike-built. I also rode a section of the Rainbow Trail outside of Westcliff that had a lot of babyhead rocks - I actually did a race there. I think I came in last.

@MCB2K
Does the Rainbow Trail in Colorado have anything to do with the Rainbow Trail on the North side of the Grand Canyon?

Also,
Are you still parking cars as a Valet? Don't your white gloves get dirty before you go to work at night? ;)
