Knee Replacement Day October 12th 2021

I posted some bruise pics over on @mike ’s Fall Colors Crash Confession and probably should not have. No comparison to taking a dive on your bike and just getting beat up during surgery.
I just took a meager walk outside and CJ freaked about my legs as it is dark in the house. She took this:

Looking good, Mikie!! Thanks for the post. Anywhere you want to post pics of your progress is a GOOD FKING PLACE TO. :geek: Glad to see the colors before they fade, but mostly like to see progress.

The Physical Therapist just left and I have to say I am very pleased.
Took the blood pressure, she freaked!
Did my pulse, she freaked!
She wondered how people survive with such a low blood pressure and pulse and not on meds. ( Medical people. My new PT is way over weight on heart meds… wtf. It’s like Respiratory Therapists that smoke!)

Had to do my exercises for her and measure extension and range to compare to last time. When we were done, I asked how I did and she was hesitant. So I pushed her some, “Hey, how will this compare on STRAVA?” Which I had to explain.
She then said, “I know your type, you are driven and I’m concerned about over achievers like you.” Nothing in it was sarcastic, just concerned.

So in the end she said I killed it and exceeded her planned expectation, but I need to not over do it as my personality type would. She said it with a smile. :)

HAIL YEAH!

Progress...

Does this mean we need to cancel the e-bike order? It has a basket on the front... :p

Great update! Good work, everyone involved.

Waited until after lunch to post this.:gag:
Today got the surgery dressing removed and replaced with a big bandaid.
To be honest I was blown away how good they both looked!

Made great progress on my exercises and progress measurements.
The PT said that Doctor Odono is very well known for outstanding work. I feel very blessed right now.

Staples seem so barbaric...they used super glue on my wife's knees.

I have a cast iron stomach, though, and was fascinated (in the Vulcan way) by the pictures. Thanks! :Roflmao:Roflmao

Too much dude leg for me.
I kid. Looking like healing is going nicely. Work it slow but steady Mikie!
I’m actually with you. I have no problem looking at my own carnage, but looking at others freaks me out and often, I just won’t look. I hate watching others get hurt.

Thanks for the encouragement Tucker!
Trying to get past the midnight hump I have developed. I’m usually so uncomfortable about this time of night I wake up tossing and turning. I end up taking a quarter pill of Oxy. Last night I just said no to drugs. Tonight I was tempted again. So instead I made 6 midnight laps around the Kitchen Front Room. It’s a Lollipop route from my bedroom as an out and back. :p

Looking good! Believe it or not, in my wife's case, they used super glue to close her incision. Her knees look better now than prior to this surgery - because her knees were trashed from figure skating and she had had surgery in the past (that wasn't particularly effective).

Walker laps are good. Substituting sleep with walker laps…? There is a time for pain meds, and for you the time is now. It’s commendable to minimize pharma intake and be aware of dependence, but sleep is critical for rebuilding. You’ve been so good on every front – don’t short yourself on sleep to prove you can be tough. We already know you’re tough. Use the meds as they’re intended, please! :)

I have no problem looking at the carnage as it came with the territory at work but it's those freakishly long toes that bother me. I hate to break it to you but your career as a foot model is OVER before it ever got started.
