Fun fact: In order to ride through Camp Pendleton you need to get a bike pass at the visitor center in Oceanside. If you're coming in from the north you're basically out of luck and need to ride along the side of the freeway for 7 miles.
If you look on their website you'll see they are open till 3:30 so you plan to get there during their posted business hours. But when you drive a half hour down interstate 5 to get there at 1:45, you will be greeted by a closed sign.
Maybe I just don't understand the whole 24-hour time thing.

A bicyclist was attacked by a roughly 9-foot long alligator at a park in Stuart, Florida, on Monday, according to authorities.

The unidentified man was riding his bike on a trail at Halpatiokee Regional Park around 11 a.m., when he lost control and fell "about six feet down an embankment" and into a body of water, the Martin County Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook.

He was believed to have landed close to a female alligator who was near her nest, reports said. After he fell, the gator bit the man, severely injuring him.

Hello?! Clearly that rider didn’t know that Gator Hucking is a new technique down there.

Ooof...

We have a lot at the test facilities, a mechanic was going down to the barge to open the oxidizer flow and there was a giant one in the passage next to the barge. He said that valve had to wait. Pretty lazy creatures I see them out basking in the sun while floating, come back in an hour, hardly moved

Believe it or not, when we were looking for lake property in the SE, one of the first thing I did was draw a big arc on a US map indicating the northern boundaries of alligators. Not going to live on a lake even close to where gators live. Anyone here old enough to remember when the American alligator was on the endangered species list?

Change of subject... we are getting smoked out from the fires in Oregon - way over here on the other coast.

Well it seems that Brian Lopes came in second on Moto...uh..ebike race. I'd think with his backing he could fenagle a bigger motor than the next guy.
I guess when you're getting old and want to stay relevant hop on a motorbike and join Bicycle race.

What an unbelievable run with the venerable trio. Dusty Hill can never be replaced.

ZZ Top was like milk growing up. I got that Fandango LP from the drug store at age 13 for five bucks and loved them since. The cheap sunglasses phase was lost on me, but they redeemed themselves with Eliminator (Gimmie all Your Lovin'). What a band.

There is a pretty good documentary on Netflix on ZZ Top.

Did my usual after work (430 p) whiting run yesterday. Felt good, warm on mustard, the rest just fine.

At the top was checking out the view and an electric moto came up. Nope, not an ebike, full moto. Full face helmet, chest armor, carbon knuckle gloves etc.

I was starting to fume.:mad:..but figured I'd play nice. Talked to him and let him know a few legal areas. Motor way, OHV area off Ortega etc. Let him know the rangers would ticket him here.
He mentioned that he's been doing loops in whiting for a couple hours today and a few times a week for the last couple months and hasn't seen a ranger. He just started riding and it was fun and he wasn't hurting anything. That pedals are too much work why would I not have the motor. :cautious:

Then he started talking about MTB Project and that's where he's getting the trails to ride on.

Motor cycles ( dirt bikes), electric or gas need to stay in the approved areas. Don't they get it? Are people really that selfish and fuxking STUPID. o_O
Of course they are.

Otherwise had a great ride. Felt strong and it was quite warm. :inlove:

I always say call the park and report it. Date and time. Also let them know the moto rider didn’t seem concerned with the park rules.

may not get caught today, but eventually.
