As a previous owner of 2 hecklers, a bullit and a butcher, I am sad.
In the interview article on pb Roskopp said it’s been in development since 2017 . obviously Been very secretive, he knew it would piss off hardcore fans at the time.
Who’s next? I suspect this year Canfield, yeti, and ibis will drop their cyborgs. Will GG and Banshee be the last holdouts?

Nice to see all the Santa Cruz fanboys and girls getting a taste in the trenches of corporate warfare.

Oh! I am so shocked a multinational corporation would stoop so low as to jump into the only rapidly expanding market sector! They're just like Trek or...... Specialized!

I for one am not surprised! Of course I saw a proto in laguna a year ago
(And not a current sc owner/fanboy)

Called this one a while ago. I've been looking forward to the hater tears for some time. They even made it in my least favorite color. I'm so happy.

And they're just as fun!
Having demo'd a number of ebikes, I'd argue regular bikes are far more fun. While the moped/motorcycle comments are nonsensical, I'm still not a fan. I think they have legitimate uses, (especially for commuters,) but they aren't for me. The weight makes them understeer badly while descending, and god help you if you lose traction on a climb. The Shimano motor is so sensitive that it throws a code if you so much as breathe on the pedals when you turn it on. And then you have a dead bike. Most of them require a cadence higher than what I am comfortable with for the pedal assist to kick in. I've yet to have an eBike ride that didn't leave me more exhausted than if I had ridden a regular bike.

The post below came from the GG Facebook group this morning. @mike, I’m pretty sure it’s from the same guy that bought your Pedalhead.

Santa Cruz just launched their new eBike with a video about the Sierra Buttes highlighting one loop they call "an absolute nightmare on a regular bike." I rode it 3 times last year, it's one of my favorites.

guess I don't have a regular bike ;)
